Strong Wind

Liam left Raul behind with the priest and walked toward the inner courtyard, meeting Airon, who was just coming out.

"Commander, what are you doing?"

"I'm about to talk to the people who arrived from Washington, you can do whatever you have pending."

"How's Rick's wife?"

Airon didn't answer, just shook his head slightly, Liam sighed, this kind of thing is inevitable and he got used to it after seeing it a lot with subordinates and loved ones.

"I'm going to pay my respects."

About to enter, when Liam suddenly remembered something, he turned his head and said:

"Airon, I just brought in an old acquaintance of a subordinate, by his words he's a friend who grew up with him as a child. He happens to be a priest now. If he sees fit, he can preside over the funeral."

Airon was surprised when he heard that, father, would that be Gabriel?

In fact, on the way back, he originally wanted to rescue the priest along the way, but forgot about it as they left the terminus  as soon as Rick found out his wife was infected.

Now, when he heard Liam mention a priest, he instinctively thought of Gabriel.

"What's his name?"

"Gabriel."

Indeed, it was him. Airon never thought the priest in the original play had that story. Now that he thought about it, somehow it all spurred for the group to meet in some way or another, which put his mind at ease. It's not that he doesn't remember everything, but sometimes living in reality is a much bigger problem than he imagines.

"Is there a story behind it?"

Airon's question was simple, but unexpectedly Liam nodded when he heard that.

"Actually, they mentioned that they knew some people who were a bit special, this group were known as the end of the world lunatics. I think Joe was the name of that person, I don't remember where he's at. But they say he's very muscular and lives alone with his dog."

Joe and his dog?

Why did this sound extremely familiar?

There were many things about this world that were unknown to him, that wasn't a surprise even when he met Alicia in Texas. At this point, he had prepared himself well enough not to have any problems with other organizations.

Of all of them he only knows of the famous CRM, but who can assure him that there may not be others of a similar nature? The space where the story takes place is so little that they do not really show what is happening in the other parts of the country, so everything outside Atlanta is unknown.

So now everything was about to begin, I had brought together the most important people who can bring about real change in the future, Airon will make sure that their destiny is completely different.

All together we persevere, all of us will survive as we are the living dead.

...

In an open square, the last people came out of the trials and now there were some five hundred people gathered who had arrived in the last few days.

These 500 people are still gathered in several small groups, but the groups with good relations chat openly with all these people.

In this square, people from the Kingdom, Hilltop, Alexandria and Noah's shelter were gathered, including also the people from Arthur and Negan's group who were unexpectedly found.

Not to be discounted is the Oceanside group, who were themselves with a group of people who were rescued from the Terminus.

However, there is an obvious difference between these two groups, no one communicates with each other and they just stand there silently.

The construction workers on the other side are different. Their leader, Arturo, is an observant man with clear goals of survival. All the way from Washington to here, they all remained silent without disturbing anyone else.

But right after arriving here, he immediately began to contact these people. Suffering greatly in turn from social contact, he put himself with good skill in contact with all the people. With his withdrawn and straightforward personality, he quickly got along well with everyone in the vicinity.

When Airon returned to the door, what he saw was that Arthur was talking and laughing loudly with Ezekiel and the others.

"Airon, my friend, you are here."

After waving his hand to greet everyone, Ezekil said loudly with a smile.

"It's always good to see you Ezekiel, I hope everyone is happy with this place."

Without waiting for a response from Ezekiel, Airon cleared his voice and said, "Listen very well, your inspection is complete, so now we will take you to a special place, but you must know a few things first.

Looking at the people who were paying attention to him, Airon organized his thoughts, and the scene instantly fell silent. Everyone looked at him eagerly, hoping for a good arrangement next time.

"The first thing I want you to know is that we have worked together and there is no difference between one person and another, whoever you are, you will be saved as long as you belong to our organization. I will always take care of you, and I promise you that I will put my body as a shield against the point of an arrow, since that is my obligation as a leader."

"We have all returned from hell, we considered a place where we could hide our domain but that was a very difficult dream to complete as my people could not operate at such a great distance from Atlanta. You may have noticed, people like Jesus or Ezekiel are my good friends as we have been in contact for much longer."

"I am sure you have all heard things about this place, but before you learn more about what is going on here you must understand that we are not survivors, the organization you are about to belong to we are the salvation of mankind."

"But before that, all of you will be further evaluated so you will not be able to leave for 48 hours. Food, clothing and blankets will not be lacking, you will all have what you need and for those who are sick or need medication, you will receive it without any problem."

"However, if they feel they cannot trust us, I must ask them to leave. We share one purpose, to rebuild society and for that we must all be united."

The scene was very quiet and no one made a sound, but Arturo, the leader of the hundred-member team, spoke tactfully.

"Sir, everyone in our group fully accepts your conditions. The conditions here are so good, who would not want to stay in this place?"

Everyone nodded secretly, they saw many things while guarding the gate for more than half a day.

For example, fully armed soldiers in highly advanced suits, guard forces on the base wall, various sophisticated weapons and equipment, and even helicopters flying in from the outside along with tanks being moved from place to place.

Besides Michonne, Carol and the others who didn't get in, they talked a lot among themselves. And they also learned that this place was small compared to the shelter they have in Atlanta, if the numbers are real, it could be a group of over twenty thousand people.

Tanks, heavy artillery, helicopters, fighter jets, Ch-47 helicopters, Apache and many other combat specials, big planes and they even have access to much more powerful things that they talked about.

I must say that the sense of security provided by the weapons is the most direct. Seeing that no one stood up for a long time, Airon continued to shout.

"Very well, if you all have made up your minds, you must follow me."

...

People's footsteps finally entered the courtyard, and there was a fairly wide path at the foot of the gate.

The inner courtyard was extremely large, the stables had been removed and in their place the inner area was being completely refurbished, with the purpose of creating a sophisticated building.

"All the livestock we have has been moved to the unseen rear of our base, and we plan for the outside area to be for greenhouses."

Ezekiel and Jesus looked wide-eyed at everything in front of them; they had also raised livestock before, but at that time they had only raised twenty or thirty pigs and dozens of chickens at most.

But in this place it was the style that there were all kinds of livestock, Humvees parked roundly and numerous tanks parked. There were helicopters and they heard that an autopsy was being attempted so that planes could land here.

In the end, the 500+ people were divided into two groups, those familiar with Ezekiel and Jesus were put directly into the blocks where they would sleep without receiving special assessment, as for the rest, they needed to be assessed before being assigned rooms.

Then there are the trivial matters such as vaccinations, receiving daily necessities, assigning their own jobs, etc.

The vaccine thing really drove the crowd crazy, but after the explanation, everyone realized that the vaccine does not immunize the virus, but only eliminates its carrier state.

On the contrary, there was a gleam of hope in Arturo's eyes, he realized the importance of the vaccine and was very happy to know that in this place hope was not yet lost.

This is hope, most people don't understand anything!
