The regular werepires emerged after Aiden was kidnapped. Ryan did not need to be a genius to understand how they came to be.

As Ryan slammed a werepire to the ground and then proceeded to rip him apart, he thought back to the time he was turned into a pure-blood vampire.

Owing to the violent nature of their transformation, the pure-blood vampires tended to have offensive supernatural skills.

The strength of said skills depended on the vampire's willpower.

Prudence for example gained the ability to stop one's blood circulation with one look. It was a very useful skill, especially for hunting purposes. But because Prudence was weak, she was unable to utilize her skill to the peak.
