Four people emerged from a helicopter that shouldn't have been there, then two fully-armed individuals pointed their guns at him, at someone who should have been a fellow Sanitation Worker... at him.

Murphy felt the world had become entirely foreign to him, everything had become strange and absurd.

Murphy didn't react at all; he let two Guards grab his arms and twist them behind his back, causing pain in his arms, but Murphy was experiencing such a strong psychological shock at the moment that he didn't find it surprising to have his arms twisted and cuffed behind him.
