Chapter 34

New Jersey winced as she watched her apprentice assist Traeger with her exercises. Arleigh had the situation well handled. Traeger had been officially reassigned yesterday to Arleigh’s command as the Navy’s second apprentice healer. Arleigh wasted no time putting her helper to work. In between the workouts she grilled Traeger on her knowledge. There were times where Traeger would tilt her head, thinking hard before offering a reasonable answer. Time away from the healer’s den did little to dampen her skills. Rarely did she get a question wrong.
