My focus definitely flickered under the "pressing" situation, though thankfully I was able to maintain it somewhat. I could sense that there were tentacles that I hadn't fully gotten rid of that would attack me if I tried to move out of the way.
I held firmly onto my position and put a hand around the handle of the sword to keep it up straight so that if it wanted to continue pushing down, it would have to cut itself even further.
After a little while of this, I decided that it was taking too much time, and the Nycthorian might be getting away. Instead of maintaining my position, I simply lowered myself until my body was pressing against the top of my legs. The tentacle followed suit, intent on suffocating me if it couldn't crush me.
At this point, I grit my teeth and suddenly pushed as hard as possible upwards. It seemed that the tentacle was caught off guard, getting pushed up far more easily than it should've been.
