"Is there anything you can't say?" Steve Rogers asked unhappily.
Wesley felt that Americans really didn't understand. They liked to get to the bottom of everything. If you didn't tell them, it would be like lying to them, especially in American movies and TV shows, as if the people around you shouldn't have secrets and everything needed to be confessed. Wesley was speechless about this.
"I'll tell you, but not now. Now we need to fight." Wesley looked around at everyone and then said, "Phil Coulson's sacrifice surprised me, but I think it also shows us the reality. Now it's war, and war has sacrifices."
"Phil is too gentle. That's the impression he gave me. Sometimes he doesn't look like an agent to me. Maybe he chose the wrong career, but he did his job."
Tony Stark said, "He should have waited for reinforcements. He shouldn't have faced Loki alone."
"There are plenty of things that don't go your way. Is this the first time you've seen a warrior die?" Steve Rogers should be the most open. He's used to death, and Saul is one of them.
"We are not warriors," Tony Stark responded.
Wesley stood up and stopped them. "We are not warriors, but now we need to fight. Loki has everything he wants. His plan is being carried out. The Chitari army is waiting."
"Elizabeth, has Bruce's algorithm been completed?" Wesley asked. There had been some confusion and Saul and Bruce had been tricked out of the lab.
"It's done. Target locked." Elizabeth's voice echoed in the command center and everyone's attention was focused.
"Where is it?"
"Stark Building!"
Dr. Bruce Banner understood instantly and immediately said, "They need energy to heat the Tesseract. It needs at least a hundred million degrees of heat, and Stark Tower has an independent energy reactor."
"This bastard." Tony Stark was about to get up and leave, but Wesley stopped him again. "Calm down, the combat tasks are now assigned. Is Mr. Director okay?" Wesley asked.
"No, you are better suited to communicate with them." Nick Fury also saw that Wesley got along well with these people, except for Captain America.
"Tony and I will use the armor to rush over first. The others will arrive later in the Quinjet. The speed of the mothership will take time, but first we have to contact the NYPD. The evacuation around Stark Tower will begin immediately and a defense line will be established a few blocks away. Contact the National Guard ground forces to support the defense line. We must not let those aliens pass through the defense line and contact the military. We need a lot of fighter support." Wesley looked at Nick Fury after he finished speaking.
Nick Fury looked troubled. "There's no problem contacting the police, but I'm not sure about the military."
"What do you mean?" Steve Rogers immediately stood up and asked. He is a soldier and is very sensitive to the military attitude.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. is now a thorn in the side of various intelligence agencies and the military, and it's a fragrant steak. They are always looking for an opportunity to pounce and take a bite. Whether it's the personnel or the technology they have, they crave it. If we can't stop the alien invasion this time, then they will take action. I don't know what they will do with such a good opportunity."
"This is the army now?" Steve Rogers couldn't believe it. Wesley didn't care. He didn't see a fighter plane in the movie. Is America's defense so weak? What did the World Security Council order to launch a nuclear bomb for?
Wesley stopped Steve Rogers with a wave of his hand. "Inform them that no matter what they think, record this announcement. If they don't act, then I don't mind giving the military a good slap in the face afterward. Captain Steve Rogers is in charge of command during the war. You're the only one here who's familiar with war and team combat. Saul, do you have any objections? After all, the war model is different from yours."
"No objections. I'm more familiar with legion warfare and hand-to-hand combat." Saul nodded in agreement.
"Then gentlemen, let's go. You need a fighter pilot. Go and find Agent Romanov. Tony, we'll go first." With that, she left with Tony. The two of them entered the equipment room and Elizabeth opened the equipment warehouse. The two pieces of metal armor glowed under the light.
The two of them looked at each other and walked up. With the help of the mechanical arm, they were fully armed. Then, the hatch above their heads opened and the armor propulsion system was activated. The two of them turned into a meteor and flew away.
On the mothership, Black Widow and Hawkeye were talking. Steve Rogers pushed the door open and said, "We're going."
"Where are we going?" Natasha Romanov asked.
"Battle, we found the location of Tesseract. We need a pilot now. Can he fly a plane?"
Hawkeye stood up and said, "I will." Steve Rogers glanced at Natasha Romanov and after getting confirmation, he said, "Then put on a combat suit and the war begins."
A Quinjet took off, with Hawkeye and Black Widow driving it. Behind them were Captain America, Thor, and Bruce Banner. "Get Wesley on the line," Steve Rogers said.
The communication was connected and he asked directly, "Wesley, can I call you that?"
"Of course. Do you want to ask about the previous topic?" Wesley naturally knew what he wanted to ask.
"Yes, it was not convenient for you to say at the time. What about now? The fighter is full of acquaintances."
"Well, the person who tricked Saul and Bruce and rescued Loki is a member of a group called Hydra. I don't think you're a stranger."
Steve Rogers was stunned at first, then said angrily, "Impossible. Hydra has been defeated."
Wesley's voice sounded again. "Don't be excited. The Red Skull you defeated was just one of them. Then your friends established SHIELD on the basis of the Strategic Science Legion and recruited many scientists from Hydra at that time. These people lurked in SHIELD. Then they continued to grow and contacted Hydra outside. Now SHIELD has a lot of Hydra in existence."
Steve Rogers roared angrily, "SHIELD? It's changed, right?"
"No, Nick Fury was already like this when he took over. It's hard to tell friend from foe, and he doesn't know what's wrong inside SHIELD, but as time passed, he found something unusual. And my joining gave him a chance. I have an ability that people generally call 'mind reading.'" Wesley officially announced his ability, instead of just a few people knowing.
