Help?! Seaton looked at Ivan fearfully, not believing a word he was saying.
Half an hour earlier, dozens of vicious wizards had burst in and tried to arrest him.
Had he not arranged for thirty of Grindelwald's finest snipers to lie in ambush nearby, in conjunction with Grindelwald's wizards to protect him, he would most likely be dead by now.
Compared to Seaton's fear, the Saints' reaction could only be described as fear. They naturally knew how terrifying the person in front of them was.
Most importantly, according to the plan, he should have been killed by the French Ministry of Magic…
Unless…
The saints present looked horrified at the prospect, and their hands trembled as they gripped their wands.
"You guessed right, Grindelwald is dead! I killed him with my own hands…" Ivan began, then seemed to think better of it.
"If you're willing to put down your wands now, I'll give you a chance to redeem yourselves!"
Ivan's words were sincere and not in the least bit joking.
Although these so-called Saints had caused him a lot of trouble in the wizarding world, many wizards who joined the ranks of the Saints were simply fooled by Grindelwald's theories about wizards ruling the world, and were not truly vicious Dark Wizards.
According to intelligence gathered by the International Confederation of Wizards, Grindelwald had over a thousand followers. He could not have killed all of them, as they were valuable spell-casters.
Ivan wouldn't mind giving them another chance to repent if they were willing to change their ways.
Unfortunately, Ivan's plan fell through. When the Saints heard about Grindelwald's death, they were horrified and in disbelief.
"This is fake! He must be trying to fool us! Let's kill him together!" the leader of the Saints shouted at the top of his lungs, waving his wand vigorously.
"Reducto ~ (crushing)"
"Petrificus ~ (Totally Petrified)" "Crucio ~ (Crucius)" …
Seeing this, the other Saints did not hesitate. Dozens of spell beams flew out, aiming at Ivan!
In addition, the President's Guard in the office, with Seaton's tacit approval, joined the fray, their guns, though not magically uncanny, more destructive.
In the face of a combined attack of technology and magic, Ivan gently raised his Elder Wand and tapped it in front of him. Several invisible magical barriers appeared out of thin air.
The dazzling beams of light from the hexes caused ripples to appear on the magical barrier, and the bullets that were fired from the barrels were repelled.
"It seems you've chosen the worst possible course of action." Ivan shook his head in disappointment at the choice of the thirty or so wizards.
Grindelwald would not have sent them to spy on the French Minister if he were not so loyal.
With this in mind, Ivan lost all interest in these people, and the tip of his cane began to take shape.
"Ray!" Ivan intoned indifferently, and the flashing lightning serpents struck the enemies on the field with unbelievable speed.
"Protegos ~ (armour protecting) "Impedimenta ~ (encompassing obstacles)"
Seeing that their previous attacks had no effect, the Saints present were close to despair. In addition, hearing from Ivan about Grindelwald's death, they were immediately flustered. Only a few of them managed to hold on and cast a few protective spells.
Unfortunately, the Elder Wand's bloodline magic was not something they could resist. The flickering lightning was even more agile, splitting into dozens of tiny lightning snakes that bypassed the layers of barriers in front of them and surged towards the Saints behind.
With a series of screams, the battle was over, and Grindelwald's men, as well as the presidential guards with guns, fell twitching to the ground, unconscious.
Ivan and Seaton were soon alone in the large presidential office.
Seaton's fear of Ivan was at an all-time high as he watched his guards being taken down in a single blow. Under Ivan's repeated pressure, he took several steps back and shouted in panic.
"Guards… Guards!"
Seaton desperately wanted someone to come in and save him from this demon, but no matter how hard he tried, no one responded.
Ivan himself was not at all surprised, as he had sent Fran and the others to protect the important officials of the presidential palace, as well as disarm the guards and bodyguards.
The look of fear on Seaton's face, however, caused Ivan to stop in his tracks. From the way Seaton acted when he entered the room, it was clear that the President of France was deeply mistaken about him.
With this in mind, Ivan was about to explain himself, but just as he was about to speak, he felt a sense of alarm.
As soon as Ivan sensed the threat, he entered his fire avatar state and, without hesitation, unlocked his three remaining protective rings.
The window on the right suddenly burst open, and a thin bullet slammed into the first barrier, tearing it apart in half a second.
Fortunately, after being weakened twice in a row, the bullet had little kinetic energy left. It hung in the air, stuck in the third layer of protection.
Ivan reached out and removed the bullet, which had been knocked out of shape and was now hovering in front of his head.
"Sniping… I didn't think there'd be a loose end." Yvonne was surprised; she'd thought Fran and the others had sorted everything out.
The next moment, Fran appeared, holding a sniper in camouflage uniform and saying apologetically, "I'm sorry, Sir Harls, I was careless…"
"Pay more attention next time!" Yvonne sounded offended, but she didn't blame him too much.
Snipers assigned to protect the President had to be skilled in disguise, and it was normal for one to slip through the net.
Ivan turned to Seaton and said in a calm voice, "Now that the threat is out of the way, I think we can have a little chat…Sir Seaton."
