The Third Salvatore

Caroline Forbes had just stepped into the Mystic Grill. She, Bonnie and Elena had plans to hang out. She collided with someone.

"I'm sorry…." She turned around.

"Okay, it's okay." The girl stopped.

She had straight and short black hair and piercing green eyes. She seemed familiar to Caroline, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"Are you from around here?" She asked Caroline. "Do you know people here?"

"Yeah." Elena told her. "I live here."

"So, you would know the Salvatores?" She asked. "Damon? Stefan?"

"Yes." Caroline replied. "I know Stefan..."

She had just started dating Stefan.

"And, Damon." She said, begrudingly.

She didn't like Damon. Not yet anyways.

"And, where would I find them?" She asked.

"In the Salvatore house." Caroline told her.

"Thanks."

The girl smiled and headed towards the door.

"I didn't catch your name," Caroline called out.

"That's because I didn't give it to you." She smiled. "It's Monique, by the way.":

She had one foot in the grill and the other on the pavement.

"Monique Salvatore." She stepped out and the doors closed behind her, leaving Caroline Forbes in shock.

A Salvatore? There was another Salvatore? A Salvatore girl?

Monique Salvatore stepped back inot her family home after almost a century and a half. One hundred and forty-five years to be exact.

"Hello, brothers!" She shouted loudly. "I am home!"

Stefan Salvatore heard the voice from his bedroom. He couldn't believe his ears. Monique? He could recognize that voice in a million people. He grabbed his shirt from the bed and ran downstairs.

"Mon?" He stopped on the last step. "Monique?"

Monique turned around.

"You haven't aged a day, brother." She smiled.

Stefan Salvatore ran towards her. Just like he used to when he was little. Even though he was much taller and broader than she was, he ran into her arms like a little child.

Monique Salvatore embraced her little brother, closing her eyes, and smiled. Her little brother was like her baby. She had waited a long time to be reunited with him.

"Stefan, I think I might be losing my mind…" Damon Salvatore came down. "I think I just heard our dead sister's voice."

"You are not losing your mind." Stefan smiled, turning back. "It's her."

Monique Salvatore stepped in front of Stefan.

"Damon."

"Little sister." Damon Salvatore's face broke into a smile.

He hugged her so hard that Monique felt as if she was being suffocated.

Neither of the Salvatore Brothers knew how she was alive. How did she even find them? The sister they had loved and the sister they had mourned over. She was alive and that was enough for both of them.

Monique Salvatore Was Alive.

"How?" Stefan asked her, "What….I mean? What is...?"

"How did this even happen?" Damon asked her, "We all thought you died that day,"

"I thought that too." She said, "But, it all changed the day she showed herself."

"She?"

"Katherine." Monique smiled bitterly.

"She turned you?" Damon asked.

"Worse."

"What can be worse?" Stefan asked, he was having problems with controlling the raging blood urges.

"She locked me in the tomb." She said, "In her place."

Tears welled up in her eyes.

"For a hundred and forty five years."
