Chapter 92

The first years all looked kind of uneasy.

They didn't really want to play cards and risk doing extra work…

Most of them thought that they stood no chance against Nagumo, which was probably true for those who thought that.

Syl's head perked up at the proposition. A sly smile crept across his lips.

"I'll play." He said.

Half the group looked at him suspiciously, thinking he would suck at playing cards. He seems to have a terrible poker face after all.

The other half didn't give a fuck. They didn't really see Syl playing as a big deal.

Nagumo smiled as his bait for Syl had worked.

His plan was basically to just do something interesting and he figured Syl would follow with no questions asked.

He was 100% right.

Syl had the attention span of a goldfish.

Anyway!

Everyone got set up to play with the battle between the first, second and third years students in a 1v1v1.

Syl was one of the representatives for the first years.

The first round passed by without incident, the third years lost and had to do the first round of chores.

Syl noticed something during this round.

The next round he never picked the joker no matter how many times he had to pick a card.

Nagumo frowned when he saw this, wondering if it was a coincidence.

The second game out of 6 was lost by the second years due to Syl's miraculous avoidance of the joker.

The third game went the exact same way with Syl winning easily with his teammate and the second years suffering another loss.

After this game Nagumo was visibly upset and 'accidently' knocked over a cup of water on the cards.

"Sorry, sorry. Just when it was getting interesting too, I just had to go and ruin it." Nagumo chuckled humbly.

Syl smirked. "No problem. I have another deck!"

Nagumo looked shocked before smiling. "That sounds great!"

Nagumo's friends cleaned up his spill while Syl got his own deck of cards ready.

Syl made sure to mimic Nagumo's cards, he even bent the corner of the joker card just like Nagumo must have accidentally done.

Syl stared Nagumo in the eyes as he did this, obviously implying something.

Nagumo showed no reaction outwardly.

The 5th game was finally up and Nagumo used Syl's own trick against him, avoiding the joker by looking at the bent corner.

However, when it was only Syl, the third year and Nagumo left Nagumo chose the joker on purpose.

Syl looked at him like he was an idiot. Not quite sure why he did that.

Eventually the third years ended up losing as both Syl and Nagumo knew which card it was.

The next game before starting Syl did something unnoticed.

The game played out in a similar fashion with Syl avoiding choosing the bent card.

Eventually Syl picked the marked card on purpose.

The round continued until it was only Syl and Nagumo left.

Syl was relaxed even though he had the marked card in his hands.

It came down to the wire with Syl only having two cards left and Nagumo had to pick one last card to win.

Nagumo smiled as his hands hovered over Syl's cards.

"I wonder which card it is? Hmmm." He provoked knowingly.

Syl just smiled innocently. "Well, I can tell you if you want. This one is the joker."

Syl pointed at the card which wasn't bent.

Nagumo laughed. "Is that so? And why should I trust you?"

Syl gasped. "Do you think I would lie to my president?! I could never!"

Nagumo laughed and grabbed the marked card, the opposite of the one Syl pointed at.

Syl's face contorted into one of despair.

"It's our victory." Nagumo said calmly with a smile.

A few seconds went by where everyone was silent.

"Pfft~! Hahahahahaha!" Ishizaki started laughing from behind Syl.

Nagumo was confused. "What's so funny?"

"HAhahaha! He looks so dumb! He lost!" Ishizaki fell over laughing.

Albert chuckled as well

Nagumo instantly flipped over his card and was shocked. It was the joker!

He lost!

At this point Syl smiled evilly. "Why didn't you listen to me? I told you that was the joker?"

Nagumo grit is teeth. "Impossible, I saw it, that card was… What did you do?"

Syl looked confused. "What? Nothing."

Nagumo took a deep breath and sighed. He stood up and started walking away, his group following him.

"Congrats…" He walked away. "I hope he was worth it." He added on without looking back.

"Worth it?" Yukimura mumbled.

Syl was to busy celebrating his win with the rest of the group to mind what was said.

No more morning chores!

That was a huge plus!

The group went to bed in a good mood that night.

Nothing much happened the next day.

Everything went on like normal until dinner.

When the group made it to dinner Syl was the first one to leave.

He sprinted off after he had prepared in the cabin.

Yukimura held his nose. "Didn't he put on way too much deodorant? I think he even used cologne."

Ayanokoji shrugged. "I guess. I don't see a problem either way."

Yukimura sighed. "You can be pretty dense sometimes Kiyotaka. You don't even know about Airi…"

Ayanokoji feigned ignorance. "What about Airi?"

"Nevermind." Yukimura just lined up with Ayanokoji to get food.

Back to Syl.

He was frantically looking around the dinning hall.

He finally found what he was looking for.

He smiled and ran in a certain direction before posing and seductively speaking.

"What's a place like you doing in a girl like this?"
