Chapter 12 Fracas

“Daughter that's not like that, gessh!” Kier's mom shouted when I threw the pimento in the sauce pan “that's not the proper way to put ingredients in the boiling water” she instructed me “do you want to sear, huh?” I lowered my gaze, is she mad? She invited me to prepare our lunch and I don't know a thing in the kitchen. Kier is the one who prepares my meal and is in charge of almost everything in the house.

“Mom, don't scold Shileyn, brother might hear you” Layla whispered. She's leaning in the counter comfortably while she’s eating the cheese

“Layla daughter, why did you deplete the cheese huh? I'll use them” mom said problematically “and I'm not scolding her! I'm teaching her” she rolled her eyes at Lyla “and can you please help us here? Instead of depleting the cheese?” she pleaded with sarcasm.
