On to the Next

The rest of the day and night was fairly lax. Rune's companions were worried about the injuries he had suffered during his fight with his Rock Serpent so they made sure he took it easy. The girls all fawned over him a chastised him when he tried to get up even Rune himself was feeling fine.

Rune accepted his fate and let them do as they pleased. It wasn't the worst thing to have everyone take care of his needs.

Morning soon came and everyone was standing outside Carin's residence once again. Raya was standing opposite the group beside her escorts, Vara and Xena. Rune pulled her into a tight hug and held her close.

"I'll see you soon," he said.

"Yeah..."

Those were the only words exchanged between the two. They had already talked the matter over and nothing else needed to be said. All that was left was a promise to reunite when Raya returned after successfully completing her goal.
