Chapter 32: home at last

The alarm clock.

A very convenient tool for anyone who has something to do in the morning. It helps the most of us who rush off to our morning routine to be ready for it.

Yet, it's a tool forever hated by all. How could it not be hated though? Although it does help awake those in their slumber to another day, it does detach them from their forever short dreams.

A world which their wildest imaginations can come true. Or they greatest horrors manifest. For many who enjoy their dreams and their likely short sleep, the clock had always been a pain in the butt.

Sadly, Zenn just so happened to be one of such people.

When he heard the beeping alarm clock on his phone, he could not even get the strength to get his hand to turn the alarm off. He merely snuggled back in on his bed. He held one of his pillows tightly and put on his head. Hoping to filter out that annoying sound that pulled him away from his pleasurable dreams.

And what a pleasurable dream it was.

He could remember it faintly. It was a dream different from any he had ever had before. Because in this dream, he was a god. Not just any god though, a giant god wealding the three supreme rules.

In that dream, with a wave of his hand fruits grew to sizes only imaginable but never achieved.

In that dream, he was able to stop, accelerate and slow down time as if it was nothing but a toy in his hands.

In that dream, he swam through space as if he was a fish in water. Distance and displacement no longer mattered to him.

In that dream... in that dream... He was so damn hungry.

So although the fictious dream and soft comfort of the bed he for some reasons missed was pleasant, he still got up.

And immediately as he did, he was confused by the dirt that covered his clothes and body. His originally white shirt looked far from its bright white it once was. It was So dirty that his bed sheets were stained by them. And the less said about his smell, the better. For it smelled like he hasn't taken a bath in week.

A long bath was clearly long overdue. But good was more important for now.

He rushed to the kitchen and grabbed whatever was edible. A loaf of bread, a half eaten polony with some juice from the fridge. When he dig his teeth into the four slices of bread, he could not help but think, 'hmm... it's not bitter.'

After eating, he of course went to his second to do list of the day. He went to take a bath.

After the tub was full of water, he went in deep with his naked body. But he did not immediately go into washing. He instead dived into the water submerged his whole body. While he was inside, he closed his eyes and felt the warm liquid that covered his whole being. In that position, he for some reason thought back to that dream he had.

'Reality, time and space. How nice would that be... hmm... time... time... mom!'

He suddenly opened his eyes. withiut caring about the water that might spill, he jumped out of the water, but it was at that moment that it all came back.

The memories rushed back into his head like a torrent of water gushing in his face. It was at that moment that his rising body from the tub was paralleled to himself rising from a large sea.

Boom!

His foot stepped on the small sandy beach. Each step he took shook the land as he rose from the salty water. Naked as he was, he was not afraid of blowing winds. As he wiped the water off his eyes, he saw the small island that scanned as far as he could see.

On top of his head, he felt something stuck, so he reach atop his head. But when he pulled whatever was on top of his head, he was surprised to find that there was nothing on it.

He looked at his hand, but the one empty hand seemed to hold something. It was the silhouette of a green naked woman that was not even big enough to fit in his hands.

It was then that Zenn looked around. He was not on an island as he thought. He was in the bathroom. And in his hand, was nothing but the dripping water escaping from his hand.

Grabbing the closest towl, he covers his lower body and rushed out of the room.

"Onna," he shouted while running through the corridor.

Anxiousness was evidently clear on his face. And as no one replied back to his call, that anxiety grew to fear.

"Onna," she shouted now louder than before. But still none replied.

With how wet his feet were, it was very dangerous to run on the tiled floor. But he did not care for that. He only ran as fast as he could to the room where his soul lay.

Luckily, he was able to get there without any accidents. He immediately opened the door and what he saw relieved his heart.

Still on that bed, his mother laid motionlessly. Zenn walked slowly toward her bed. He caressed her warm cheek said softly, "Mama, i 'm home."
