Chapter 442: The Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor's Enemy (Edited)

After everyone gradually dispersed, Fish, who was not full, had a brief chat with Professor McGonagall and then led Hermione back to the Great Hall.

By this time, the students in the Great Hall were already talking animatedly about what had happened in the hall, and the news had spread throughout the school in the blink of an eye.

The Slytherin students were naturally very critical of Professor Moody's actions, after all, many of their parents had followed the Dark Lord, while the Gryffindors laughed as if Christmas had come early.

"Don't talk to me."

Strangely, Ron did not join the discussion, but said this to Harry.

"Why?" asked Harry in confusion.

"Because I want this to be etched in my memory forever," Ron replied as he closed his eyes, a look of great joy on his face, "Draco Malfoy has been turned into a ferret by Moody..."

Before he could look back for long, however, Fish and Hermione were back at the long Gryffindor table....

Ron heard the commotion, his eyes widened, and he couldn't help but voice his complaint, "It would be great if you wouldn't save Malfoy, Fish, so we can enjoy his embarrassed posturing a bit more."

"Fish thinks it would make more sense for you to go fight Draco yourself."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish replied earnestly, leaving Ron speechless.

"Well...," sighed Ron, changing the subject, "I was hoping you'd fight Professor Moody."

He counted his fingers with a strange expression, "Quirrell, Lockhart, Lupin... those three teachers from Defense Against the Dark Arts class earlier, you didn't spare any of them."

"Huh? That's right..."

At Ron's reminder, Fish, who had been eating a lot, swallowed the food in his mouth hard and said, "Fish wanted to fight him, but it's a pity Minerva will arrive."

"Moody is not the same as a liar like Lockhart!"

The twins arrived at the Great Hall just in time to hear Fish's conversation, and Fred exclaimed as he took a seat diagonally across from Fish.

"We had your class this afternoon! It was great!" He exclaimed, excitedly, "Maybe you can't beat it, Fish."

But Fred's words made the cat even more interested in Moody, and he wagged his tail, eyes sparkling, as he asked, "Really nya? Is that weird guy really powerful nya?!"

?()?

"Uh... probably..."

Fred froze for a moment, he was so excited that he had blurted it out without thinking, and by the looks of Fish, he was probably going to find the opportunity to pick a fight with Professor Moody later.

Thinking about the black magic Professor Moody had demonstrated in his Defense Against the Dark Arts class this afternoon, Fred hastened to add, "But the black magic he showed us today was dangerous, and I don't think he'd use it in a fight with you."

"Fish isn't afraid of any dark magic! That Voldemort fellow was defeated by Fish."

("'3'")

Fish folded his arms in dissatisfaction, pouted and said.

As soon as Voldemort's name came up, everyone around him shuddered unconsciously. George smiled wryly and smoothed things over, "Anyway, Professor Moody has real abilities. You'll find out when you take his class."

Ron buried his head in his backpack and looked at his schedule.

"We don't have his class until Thursday!" He said in a disappointed tone.

"I can't believe it's taking so long!" Fish sounded just as disappointed.

Of course, his reasons for disappointment were very different from Ron's.

As soon as everyone had finished dinner and Fish returned to the Gryffindor common room, the older girls, led by Sharpay, came over and began tutoring Fish.

Some of the girls had intentionally pulled Hermione away from the cat.

The next moment, however, Fish turned to Hermione, who had been pushed outside, and beckoned, "Hermione, come inside, don't you like reading best?"

(?ΦΦ?)?

Then Fish turned to look at Sharpay again, "Can Hermione and Fish listen together nya?"

The corners of Sharpay's lips twitched and she shot a quick glance at the girls who hadn't given up, not caring about her mood, and nodded with a smile, "Of course."

The girls reluctantly turned away, leaving Hermione, the little girl, to walk beside Fish with her head held high.

Tutoring Fish was something the Gryffindor girls were already familiar with, and it wasn't much different from helping Fish with homework.

The older girls, led by Sharpay in particular, had developed a knack for telling stories that didn't bore Fish as easily, though not as good as Professor McGonagall, but more than good enough to be a teacher at Hogwarts in the future.

But the cat was too resistant to reading, and even with the girls' best efforts and Hermione's constant soothing, Fish only lasted less than an hour before he got bored.

"Nyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanya! Reading is so troublesome nya!"

?(? `Д′?)?

Finally unable to sit still, Fish frantically ruffled his hair, then straightened his arms and leaned his upper body on the table, rolling his face back and forth on the table.

The twins and others also browsing books in the common room sighed together.

If they had put themselves in Fish's shoes, they wouldn't have been bored studying for a whole day, let alone an hour.

Sharpay, the lead tutor for the first tutorial, let out a light chuckle and put down the textbook in her hand.

"Take a break then," she said, "Would you like me to brush your hair?"

"Hermione?"

?()?

Fish, who was lying on the table, raised his head and then looked at Hermione, who was next to him.

He was Hermione's cat now, and it was best to ask her permission...especially if Hermione herself was present.

Fish hadn't spent the summer watching TV for nothing, though he'd mostly watched cartoons, he'd occasionally watched other shows and learned a lot of assorted knowledge from them.

Among them was the situation where male and female friends lose their temper due to other opposite sexes, Fish didn't want to see Hermione as the women on TV.

"Then I'll tease her."

Hermione did not respond to Fish, but directly to Sharpay. She had a good relationship with Sharpay, as she was the first girl to accept Hermione's relationship with Fish.

Also, Sharpay not only had excellent grades, but she was also very good at dealing with people. She had always been a role model for Hermione, so when she asked to play with her cat, Hermione didn't mind too much.

Besides...

The cat had already been pampered by all the girls at school, so if Hermione was jealous of that, sooner or later she would become bitter.

With Hermione's permission, Fish transformed into a cat and lay down on all fours on the table, purring in anticipation to express his pleasure.
