GODDESS OF FURY I

ARIANNE POV

For a minute, all I could hear was the sound of my own heartbeat. Nothing else, and the silence in the room was deafening. Perhaps, I didn't hear her right, no, I couldn't have. The fates? Arthiana? The goddess of fury? Tag'arkh's sister? ME? No, no, no, it was all just too much for me. Drawing a shaky breath, I stood up from the bed.

"Arianne?"

Tag'arkh's muffled voice called me but I ignored her and just headed straight towards the bedroom door. Ivan seemed to understand that I wanted to be alone because he didn't call after me. He also signaled for Kiran and the rest to move out of the way and allow me to pass.

"Arianne!" Tag'arkh called after me.

I think she made a move to reach for me but was stopped back by Ivan. "Let her go!" I heard him say, after that I didn't hear anything else.
