Édouard pulled away from the hug and asked his father to forgive Anneliese. "I want to see you both as the great King and the Queen. Also, Father, I do not wish for the throne. Father can pass it to either Andrew or Jemeiah," he asserted.
"My relationship with Anneliese will take time to heal. I hope that the Prince understands. Now, it's between me and her," Christian stated. He asked Anneliese many times about Édouard's identity, but she always lied to him. She did not either find it necessary to tell him that the child born out of their love was found dead at the time of birth.
"The throne goes to the eldest child. Andrew and Jemeiah aren't either capable to run a kingdom," Christian asserted.
Édouard understood his father's words. He felt pity for his father, who got betrayed by his wife for not telling the truth to him. "I take my leave," Édouard said and bowed to his father. He turned around and walked out of the inner chamber.
