"Lianger, hurry up and move the stuff inside, Mother is going to sit down in the house for a bit," she said to her son.
After instructing her son, she rubbed her back and staggered towards the house.
However, she hadn't even made it halfway there when a stern shout stopped her in her tracks, "Why are you coming in empty-handed? Don't you know to help Lianger with a hand? Hurry up and move things!"
These were the words spat out by Old Master Zhou.
Madam Zhou paused, staring blankly at her husband, her mouth hanging open.
She wanted to say that she had never done any heavy lifting before, but she felt that saying so now would only bring more scolding.
So she bit her lip, glanced towards the direction of the cart, and reluctantly walked over.
"Ah, now we are penniless; what shall we do?" Elder Mr. Zhou sighed deeply, questioning his son, as well as himself.
