Three days had passed since Eugene discovered that he didn't just live twice but his second life was inside his favorite book.

At that time after Eugene ate his fill he stood up and walked towards the owner.

He asked if the owner knows any available job,since he was here he wanted to see with his own two eyes his favorite male pro and male lead.

Eugene also wants to see how the two will fall in love with each other.

The owner told him that there was a building named "Divine" where they accepted a person to work as a servant inside the palace.

He also told him to go and register himself so he can apply smoothly and wouldn't have any problem.

Right now he was standing in front of a two storey house to register, he went inside and went to the counter.

It was already in the afternoon so it wasn't crowded like in the morning.

"Good afternoon, what can we do for you?"

"I'd like to register my name."

The girl at the counter picked up a piece of paper and a pen then wrote something on it before she turned her gaze back at Eugene.

She smiled and said.

"This way Sir,please follow me."

The girl went out the counter and walked towards the stairs to go to the second floor.

Eugene looks around while following the girl in front of him.

He was still amazed since he found out that he was inside a book.

How come it looks more amazing in reality than imagining it while reading?

After how many steps they made they finally stopped in front of a door.

The girl opened it and Eugene saw a table in the middle where an old man with a bear was sitting in front of it, its eyes closed.

The girl told him to go there and the old man was the one who'll write his information and make him a copy of it.

He nodded and immediately walked towards where the old man was.

The girl then left the room and quietly closed the door.

After Eugene sat in front of the old man, the old man opened his eyes and stared at Eugene.

Eugene shivered when the old man's gaze fell on him.

What?What is it?

It took a minute before the old man opened his mouth and spoke.

"Name, Age, Birthday."

He scratched his head while thinking of an answer.

He didn't know the exact age of his body, he also didn't know its birthday so using his real one is fine,right?

After all no one will find out he's not the real one.

So he answered the old man's question.

"Eugene Riley, 22 , March 3."

He didn't know what year it is now so he didn't tell the year of his birthday. The old man didn't care about it and started to write on a piece of clean white paper.

He then asked about his parents name, how many are they in a family and if he was the youngest or the oldest of them siblings.

Eugene can only answer I don't have parents anymore, I was an only child and I'm alone.

The old man stared at Eugene for a while then continued his writing.

He then makes another one,after finishing it he rolls it and ties it with a string.

"Don't lose it,if you lose it and ask for another copy then you will have to pay first."

Eugene nodded his head,opened his bag on his left waist and put the scroll inside of it.

He stood up and told the old man thank you then left that room.

When he saw the girl on the counter he told her he was finished and would be going now.

"Take care Sir."

He then left that building and went back to the inn he was staying in.

Eugene was already close with the inn owner and asked him where he could apply for the servant job inside the Empire's palace.

"Don't worry about it anymore,come with me tomorrow I'll be delivering some fruits there. I'll personally recommend you there if you want. I know a maid inside so she could help you with that."

"Really?!"

The owner patted Eugene's shoulder and told him to go to his room and take a rest.

Really,how come people here are this kind?In his past life people wouldn't help each other unless it was a favor or you will pay them after they help you.

Or if the two of you were friends,close or something but here not only they help you and are kind to you not because you're friends with them.

"Amm I'll eat first then rest after that,Ms.Waiter pleas-"

Before he finished his sentence he was cut-off by the waiter who served him since he first stayed in the inn.

"Give you all the cheapest but delicious food we have?Right away"

The woman chuckled and went to the kitchen to prepare his food.

Is it obvious he was poor?The owner laughed and told him to sit and wait on the table.

Eugene walked away and went where he first sat on his first day here.

The two guys who he talked to that day came inside the inn to eat,they looked around and when they saw the familiar figure they strode their way to that man.

They picked a chair and set it on the table where Eugene was and the two positioned themselves on Eugene's left and right side.

Eugene blinked at the sudden pop out of the two,when he recovered the two immediately talked and talked to him.

When Eugene told them that the people here were kind, the two guys froze and gazed at him like he was spewing some bullshit.

What the hell is he talking about?Kind?Who was kind??The people here? Is he crazy?

Seeing their stares like that Eugene had a confused expression, is he wrong?

On what he observed all people here were kind and friendly, one the the two guys couldn't help it and immediately scolded Eugene by being naive.

"Not all people here were kind and friendly,you're just lucky you met us and the owner of this inn. In this City kind people can be counted on your fingers, the others just being kind to you if they have a bad intention or you paid them."

Bad intention?Like robbed? Stealing his things or something?

"Are you new here?If yes then please be careful, many people are targeting newcomers in the City cause they are easy to fool."

Eugene laughed awkwardly after hearing the guy,so he was easy to fool?Well that's true though.

The order came and the three started to eat while the two were still talking and couldn't help their mouths shut unless they were out of things to gossip about.

He just ate silently while listening,well this was also a form of gathering information so he just let the two talk until they were satisfied.

After an hour of talking and eating the two paid their bills and said goodbye to Eugene.

Eugene forgot to ask their name,he just remembered it when the two already left.

He sighed,went to the counter and paid his bill.

"Take a rest,don't forget about tomorrow. It will be a long journey since the Empire was far away from here."

He thanked the owner again before going upstairs to his room so he could rest.

Then tomorrow had come, the day of Eugene's departure to go with the owner to the Empire palace.

He sat inside a carriage with the owner,the back was full of different kinds of fruit in a basket.

After preparing all the things they needed to deliver, the owner started the horse to run.
