ARAM MEETS YOSEF

Aram Noah finally reached the alley heading to his home. The journey from the market in his current state was a tough one, and he was happy to have reached. But, his heart was conflicted, he had promised his children some food. What was he to tell them when they saw him empty handed?

As a father he felt like a total failure. Fathers were meant to provide, and protect their children and families. And he had failed. This distressed him.

He found the door locked. Normally when he came back, he could find the door partially open. This was done by Rebeca, ever since she turned four years. She developed a habit of waiting for him to return home in the evening. She could leave the door partially open, and keep on peeking through to see if he was coming. When she saw his figure, she could rush out to meet him.

Slowly, he approached the door and knocked on it. There was no response at first.
