When the blue alarm clock rang on the side, Adrian did his best to catch and snooze it again before the sound disturbed Vivienne in her sleep. Its crisp ringing sound was surely a scare to the faint of hearts.

It was already more than an hour after the banquet had started. Adrian was using his own alarm clock to keep him awake by letting it ring for every hour that the banquet was proceeding. However, as it rang out that time, his soul ended up jumping out of his body. Even if the boy thought that Vivienne would wake up from the blaring sound, she didn't even stir from her position.

Hours before the banquet, Vivienne received her treatment from Dwight under the supervision of Nicholai. After that, she was left in Adrian's room to sleep, away from the presence of the other children. Then again, Adrian had a feeling that the 'sleep' was not the kind that even he does at night.
