Chapter Four

It's a new day, Charles woke up in the lovely morning with the thought of what happened between himself and Linda.

The scene was still fresh in his head. He think through everything and ended in a mixed reactions.

That his first time of having sex outside relationship. He's a decent and discipline rich guy. He's not happy the way he treated Linda after the incident but his ego won't let him apologize.

 He walked slowly to the sitting room towards the direction of his computer wanting to check if he has a message from any company or person. He was about opening his Apple laptop when he heard a knock on his door.

"Who is there?" He asked moving towards the door.

He saw his mother and the lady she had earlier met in the eatery who shouted at Linda. He was shocked to see the same lady with his mother and wondered why they are in his place early in the morning. 

He opened the door and welcome his mother with a hug and a peck on her left cheek but he ignored the lady.

"Hi! Charles. How are you doing today?" The lady greeted.

He pretended not to hear her and walk slowly to where he had placed his laptop. He make a U-turn  when he remembered that he ought to offer something to his mother. 

He went straight to his shelf where he kept his wines. He took one of the wines then walk to the place he placed his cups.

He served his mother ignoring the lady  as he moved towards his laptop. 

"Won't you serve her a drink!" She said.

Charles ignored what his mother said pretending to be busy on the computer.

He knew his mother agenda for the day and he's fully prepared for the worst.

"Can you keep your laptop for now!" Her mother said.

"Mom, I have to send a message to some of my clients via the mail" he replied.

"You can do that later. I have an urgent message for you" her mother said.

He looked at his mother and the lady simultaneously before dropping the laptop.

"Charles, this is Jessica, the lady I want you to  marry" she said.

He looked at the lady for some seconds, then reply his mother.

"I can't marry her!" He said authoritatively.

"You can't try that!" She replied walking her way down to him.

"You can't force her on me mom. I don't love her" he said shouting on her mother.

"I don't care if you don't love her! All I wanted is  you marrying her and nothing more" she said angrily shouting at the same level with him.

"Now get this, this is the lady I want you to marry and no one else" she concludes.

She walked out of his house with the lady.

Charles was angry with his mother decision. He remembered how the lady insulted Linda and that makes him angry the more.

"I can't marry that bitch!" He shouted.

He was sitting trying to get rid of the anger when his phone rang.

His secretary called to remind him of a meeting that was scheduled for the day.

He had fixed an appointment with a group to advance his company.

Charles is the CEO of the Lifefort company. The company deals with construction of building and architecture service. They also deals with import and export of raw materials.

He inherited the company from his late father.

His father started the business before he got married to his mother. His father died few years before his graduation from the University in a car accident.

He rushed to the bathroom and get himself set for the day with anger on his face.

On his way to the office, he thought of Linda, his mother and the Jessica's reaction towards Linda at the restaurant. 

He was about getting to the office when he received the call from his secretary the second time notifying him about the arrival of the people that want to meet with him.

He promised to see them soon In the office.

He got to the office seeing some set of people at the left side of the reception.

They recognized him but he cant figured any of them out.

"Good morning sir!" They greeted.

"Good morning! Please have your seat. I will call for you as soon as I put things in order" he said.

After putting things together in his office, he sent for his visitors.

They came in and the meeting began after a short introduction by the team leader.

They came to informed him about an organization which they wanted to sell. 

The organization deals with importing and exporting building and office materials.

It's sounded like a good deal to him but he refused to show it.

They showed all the necessary documents to him and stating their prices for the firm.

To him, money is not the problem but the qualities of what he's buying.

He looked through the documents and promised to come to the location for proper inspection when he's available.

He called his lawyer in the office to go through the documents and also make a legal agreement that the building or any material there would not be sold until he inspect the place.

They all agreed to what he said and the team leader and other members signed as an eye witness.

After the meeting,  he decided to take his breakfast in a restaurant far away from his office, the thought of his mother words fills his heart, he tried all he could to take it away but it seems impossible at the moment.

He's not ready for marriage, he didn't trust any because of his previous experiences in relationship.

He remembered his ex girlfriend who left him after collecting some huge amount of money from him despite her sweet words and care.

"Love is not existing anywhere"he muttered

Though, he loves Linda but his ego and experience won't let him go for him.
