Upon hearing Scholar Doan's suggestion, Colin knitted his brows immediately.

If it was just about refusing Okamoto's proposal, Colin wouldn't need to call for Scholar Doan, would he?

Colin was certain that Scholar Doan must understand this point so there must be more to his statement.

Colin didn't interrupt, he sipped his coffee while signaling Scholar Doan to continue with his eyes.

"Indeed, you can firstly refuse the Troll Emperor and see his reaction," Scholar Doan proposed, "If he reacts strongly, even at the expense of offering more handsome conditions, it would further indicate that the assassination of Squein is a trap."

Colin frowned, and said, "So what's next? If Okamoto raises his bid, do we then agree?"

"No." Scholar Doan shook his head firmly, "You have to refuse him consistently, no matter what terms the Troll Emperor puts forth."

"So we completely give up this opportunity?"
