Cyrus no longer gave her another look when he came out, his mood soured the moment he saw all those books.
The distance from their place to his office was a thirty-minute drive.
Twenty minutes after he started driving, heavy rain poured suddenly.
Though it was already a sure thing after seeing how heavy the clouds were moments ago.
*SCREECH*
He didn't mean to actually hit the breaks so hard but after remembering something, his foot moved instantly.
He remembered that the window behind the sofa where Heather was sleeping, was actually open.
He furrowed his brows, why would he think about that. Surely, she would wake up upon feeling the coldness.
With that he continued driving but as compared to a while ago, his driving was actually slower.
Since he had seen it, he couldn't just brush it off.
With a thought he called Amelia.
"Young master, I went out to buy groceries and is currently stuck in traffic. I might arrive in another fifteen minutes," Amelia answered respectfully after he asked her the question of where she currently is.
Cyrus had arrived in his company, he was now in front and a bit more drive end he would be on the parking space.
But there was this nagging feeling he has that makes him stop from entering the parking lot.
With a click of his tongue and furrowed brows he made a U turn and returned to the villa.
He would have ignored it if he didn't know. If he didn't see, but he did.
And that's what irritates him now.
The reason he had been spending most of his time away from that place was because he didn't want to see anything. He didn't want to know what is going on with her.
Because at the corner of his mind, he knew she was also a victim.
He simply blamed everything on her because of her reaction on that day, where she was not even against the sudden decision of her getting married to him as if she wanted it all along.
Together with the pain that crossed Susan's face when she saw the two of them on bed.
And most of all, because he couldn't bring himself to blame his mother even though he has this feeling that Amanda was actually behind what happened.
In the end, Heather received all his ire and he wanted someone to blame that he didn't want to get close to her and chose to keep on hating her.
She became his outlet and he knew he was wrong.
He was completely wrong and at fault.
He has no plans to justify that, because he knew Heather was the sacrifice at this moment. He just couldn't stop blaming things on her.
Of course, he was also blaming himself but most blame went to Heather.
Cyrus clicked his tongue after arriving back to their place.
It was twenty minutes after his call to Amelia.
"Young madam!!"
As he entered, he saw all the grocery on the floor while Amelia was kneeling in front of the sofa trying to wake Heather.
"What happened?" he asked as he approached them.
It was obvious that Heather was drenched, even the sofa was drenched.
But the curious thing is that, Heather has not woken up.
"I don't know sir, she is asleep but I can't wake her up."
Cyrus frowned and walked over.
Heather's brows were tightly furrowed and she seemed to be dreaming about something that does not allow her to wake up from.
With a sigh, Cyrus carried her in his arms.
"Since she won't wake up, we can let her sleep. But help her change into dry clothes. And then call for Lance to check on her."
He went up to the third floor and placed her on the bed.
Amelia took out some clothes and once Cyrus was out, she helped Heather get change.
She was no longer shock that Cyrus didn't do it himself. It was already a shocking enough action that he actually got close to her and carried her.
What's more is that he was the one who gave her a call and when she did get back, Heather was shivering but she won't wake up.
A few minutes later, Cyrus arrived.
For him to give her a call means he knew the condition of Heather, which means he had come back for something before leaving again. Then he returned because of Heather as well.
After helping her change and changing the blanket that also got wet due to her clothes.
Cyrus, on the other hand, walked down to the living room and helped with the papers that were scattered by the wind.
Some were drenched but only a few and the rest were simply blown away.
And now that he was looking at it closer, he realized that his thoughts a while ago was different.
It was not simply biology that she was studying but instead they were all about different biological things and most of all, it was about biological weapon.
It was an uncommon thing to study and he couldn't understand why she was suddenly interested by it.
He fixed everything and sat down on another sofa.
There is one thing he was completely shock about.
The fact that he returned for her, he returned to check the person he hated the most.
He could only pinch the space between his brows before checking the time.
It was already half past 4 pm and he should have had a meeting at 4.
To think that he neglected it just for her, it is so unlike him.
Unlike the way he usually treats her.
'Was her change too much that I became curious at this new character?'
He shook his head, there is no way he would be curious just like that.
He brushed it off his mind, his negative feeling towards her still remains, that is a fact.
As for what other feelings he was having with those eyes of hers? He no longer cared.
His mother does not want divorce, Heather does not say anything. Then he will just let the course go as is.
"I thought you were sick."
He snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing the familiar voice of his friend.
Though they only became friends during his stay in the hospital where this person was working as a part timer.
Lance Folger, another doctor who was known by the public as on par with Alexander Relish.
He works from hospital to hospital, not because he was being dismissed but because he chose to do so. He wanted to experience more and he felt that different hospitals from different countries will help him experience it.
He only settled here the year Cyrus returned and officially took over their company.
Being in the medicine field, Cyrus was a person Lance could talk to so easily.
Their minds were of the same wavelength that they clicked instantly.
He instantly treated Cyrus as his best friend. And even though Cyrus was not open about it, he felt the same way.
"Why did you call me for that person?" Lance frowned.
He knew how much Cyrus love Susan and was very much supportive of the two of them.
And so, he also has his hatred towards Heather.
Seeing that Cyrus was fine and they were at his house, there was only one person who can be sick.
And that is Heather Relish.
"Just check on her. She was drenched with rain and seemed to be dreaming so deeply that she won't wake up."
Lance continued frowning.
"Just do it Lance," Cyrus sighed.
"Tsk, you taking care of the one you hated, isn't that hateful?"
"…"
Lance clicked his tongue once again before turning to the third floor, he knew where the room since he had talked a lot with Cyrus about Heather.
He did saw her in the wedding but back then, her hair was already changed to black and she was wearing contacts. The reason why after signing the marriage certificate he left without a word.
Heather started her acts on that same day.
*THUD THUD THUD*
Sounds of running could be heard a few minutes later.
"Who was that?!?!" he looked like he saw a ghost.
It was a lady with platinum gray wavy hair that matched all the other beautiful aspects of her face.
It was the complete contrast of the black haired lady that does not match her face at all.
It was obvious she wasn't born with such hair color and style.
"Check on her now Lance, then we can talk later."
Cyrus leaned back and closed his eyes.
His sudden reaction today was still giving him a headache.
Lance blinked and realized that the person sleeping upstairs was indeed Cyrus' wife.
He went up again and even though he has prejudice he did his work as a doctor.
Heather actually broke into a fever when Lance checked on her.
He had no choice but to give her a drip and he too, tried to wake her up but she just won't.
"If she still doesn't wake up by tomorrow then she needs to go to the hospital," he said to Cyrus after coming down.
As a doctor, Heather's life was still a life he must save.
There was the hypocritic oath at the same time Heather didn't do anything that warrants her not to be saved when she is ill.
She just took away the freedom to love of a person.
Cyrus nodded.
"And? What happened? Is it a new act? I mean why the change in hair color again?"
Amelia came in and poured them tea before leaving them alone.
"That's her real appearance," he replied.
"Her real appearance?!? Was that natural?"
"You know who her family is," Cyrus said as he took a sip to clear his mind.
"But their hair color may be gray, yet hers is a platinum one."
"Heard it was from her ancestor, it somehow became pronounced on her."
Despite avoiding her, he still looked into her and found even these little details.
"What act is she up to now?" Lance asked.
"She said she just returned to her original self. As for her other plans or what brough the sudden change, I don't understand it either."
Seeing an unnatural helpless look on Cyrus face, Lance truly didn't expect it. No matter the hurdle, Cyrus never showed such helplessness.
This was the very first time.
