"Are you free?"

Jerrod had done his own research to find a solution to his distressful situation. He also came across different paranormal cases that he wished may have enlightened his situation, one of which is the mystery of having a doppelganger.

Seeing someone with a very similar face to the ghost caused him to consider if the cashier was a doppelganger.

"But is it considered a doppelganger if the other one was a ghost?" Jerrod wondered. He was still panting from being scared to death and trying to calm himself inside his car.

Seeing a doppelganger has also been considered an omen of misfortune or bad luck, and being a doppelganger of ghosts meant Jerrod was entirely doomed.

"What was that? Why does she look exactly like the ghost?"

Except for the muscles and the mustache, the lady cashier looks very similar to the ghosts in the cabinet.

"No. No. I am thinking wrong. Doppelganger? No! It's not it! That ghost must have copied that cashier's physical appearance and then hunted me!"

Like what his officemate said, ghosts are the only embodiment of human flaws. It was only created with our minds. Jerrod was considering that the ghost had something to do with his emotions or a past relationship.

But what is his relationship with that cashier in the convenience store?

He had never met that lady before, and it was what that cashier lady did that made the ghost copy her appearance.

Based on what Jerrod had researched, paranormal activity appears when a person is distressed, exhausted, or has pent-up emotions that can't be shown upfront. It's when images and illusions show up in response. It's the inner conscience. Maybe it's a sign that someone is going through something which their inner self can't express openly for various reasons.

Jerrod ignored this idea because he was doing great in his career and was not emotionally distressed at all, which is why he wondered what made the ghost hunt him.

Is it his negative energy that attracts such?

Does the cashier lady have something to do with him?

"Who is that girl? From the way she reacted, it seems she doesn't know me either. I need to know our connection!" he exclaimed as he stepped on the accelerator.

There is no particular destination he would like to go to and he just wants to drive away from the convenience store. He then decided to park his car at a park near his house and called someone over the phone.

"GS convenience store, Tahaw branch, send me their employees' information now." He ordered without giving the person on the other line a chance to even greet him.

A few moments later, a knock was heard at the window of his car.

Jerrod frowned and rolled down his window.

"Black, the way you work still creeps me out." Jerrod commented. He didn't give Black his location, but here was the person who he was talking to on the other side of the phone, riding a big bike, wearing a full black outfit, and wearing a full face helmet.

"I love to deliver your order personally." Black bluntly replied while handing a thick envelope to Jerrod.

Jerrod hurriedly opened the envelope and looked for the cashier's information.

"That's 10k."

Jerrod returned his gaze to Black, who he thought had already left. He then awkwardly laughed and took ten thousand cash from his pouch.

"Sorry. I was so excited to look at my order."

Black didn't care about Jerrod's excuse and just left as soon as he took the cash from Jerrod.

Jerrod let out a sigh before focusing on the papers again.

"I need to know her possible connection to me and the ghost!" he exclaimed.

In his car, he looked at the photos of the employees to know which one was the information for the cashier lady.

"Ack!"

His heart almost fell out of his chest once he finally saw the cashier's lady data sheet. He then threw the other papers away and folded the picture of the cashier lady before he could look at the details below.

The cashier lady really looked like the ghost, which brought shivers to his body even if it's just a photo.

Name: Larissa Mutya

Age: 28

status: single

"Hmm? I don't know her. I had never heard her name before."

Jerrod was sure that the cashier was someone he had never met before, but what was her connection to him?

"Is there something to do with the ghosts? hmm wait..."

Jerrod paused as he read Larissa Mutya's educational attainment.

"Hmm? She attended the same middle school and high school as me, but why didn't she study for college?"

One thing that made Jerrod confused was how come the girl could afford to study at the same elite private school Jerrod attended but couldn't afford for university.

"I need to ask Erwin. He might know."

He then dialed Erwin's number and was responded to with a loud wailing sound.

"Are you babysitting?"

"Yes, Les is cooking dinner. Anyway, what's up?"

"Well, do you know someone like Larissa Mutya back in high school?"

"How would I know? That's ages ago."

"Ah. You're right. okay.."

"Okay, is there something going on?"

Jerrod could feel the concern in Erwin's tone, but he chose not to detail what was happening to him, as it was obvious that his friend was also busy taking care of his family.

"Nothing important. I just asked because I met her while I was buying my dinner. I thought you'd know her."

"You recognize her?"

"Sort of. Anyway, good luck with baby sitting. Thanks."

Jerrod hangs up without waiting for Erwin's response. He just let out another sigh as he was still awkward talking to his friend, who didn't believe him seeing a ghost.

He just leant against his car seat and rested his eyes for a while, thinking of anyone who might know something about Larissa.

"Ah right! Manager Joe is my schoolmate!"

He sat properly and dialed another number to call.

"Hello? Joe, are you free?"
