"You... stupid... Idiot... Fool... What were you thinking, Vili? Where on Earth were you?" she questioned and scolded herself with no end looking at her reflection in the mirror.
Washing her face and taking a few deep breaths, Vilian tried to build up some gutsiness so that she could encounter whatever the situation was to come. She mustered herself mainly to know about what kind of thing did happen earlier, for she didn't even understand any of it. The only way to know about it was to ask Astrel, so she decided to ask about it. Walking out of the bathroom she looked for Astrel but he wasn't where he was earlier. 'Oh! there he is,' she thought seeing the person talking to someone over his phone in the patio. Taking slow incoherent footsteps, she walked towards him.
Astrel's ears twitched hearing the footsteps behind him, so he ended the call immediately and turned around to only see Vilian startled, probably not because of expecting him to turn. Her eyes were gone wide and her hands were on her chest.
"What?? Mesmerized by my handsomeness?" he smirked while enjoying her expressions taking a turn from shock to annoyance.
"Huh! Why would I be, for I've seen enough of handsome men in my life." She said trying her best not to lose her patience.
"So... you agree that I'm handsome," he said, his smirk widening.
"Huh? When did I?" She felt like talking to this man will cost her in losing her sanity.
"Nevermind," he said nonchalantly ignoring her.
"Such a narcissistic devil." She mumbled rolling her eyes, following Astrel who went straight towards the couch and sat on the single couch while Vilian sat on the long couch which was adjacent to it.
"Mr. Astrel, can I ask you a question?" She asked a bit hesitant feeling the piercing gaze Astrel was giving her.
Astrel stared at her for two whole seconds before he said, "You want to know about the creature and about me."
Vilian wasn't surprised but was taken aback by how this man in front of her would-be straightforward all the time. She nodded her head looking straightly into his eyes, but the next question made her laugh immediately thinking that he was trying to kid.
"What did the creature look like?" He questioned. For god's sake he was the one to destroy or what it looked like, she thought.
"You're joking, aren't you?" She asked laughing but getting no response in return. "No?" She asked still not getting a reply. Astrel gave a blank expression blinking his eyes twice. "Right, your damn serious," she said, looking at his unchanged expression.
"Keep on wasting my time with that small mouth of yours any more minute and you'll lose that pretty tongue of yours." He said sternly, raising one of his eyebrows. Rather than feeling her voice go out hearing what Astrel said, she absent-mindedly took note of the slit which was on his left eyebrow. Though it was as it was, he still looked handsome, thought Vilian. Shaking off her thoughts she tried to speak but Astrel stood up from the couch to leave which made her immediately shout,
"No!" she screamed in a hurry and blabbered whatever was on her mind, tugging the cuff of his shirt. "Please don't leave me alone. Uh... I mean..." Astrel smirked at the girl's words and said,
"Gonna miss me, little kitty?" Vilian shook her head denying her earlier statement.
"I meant to say that there isn't anyone in the mansion, so... could you.." interjecting her Astrel spoke up,
"So... there isn't a soul accept for you, am I right?" asked Astrel thoughtfully. Vilian nodded her head hesitantly not looking into his eyes. Astrel looked for her to continue.
"Father has gone on a business trip along with Mother and Danny and the maids and the other servants are on their day off today," she said. Astrel hummed and once again asked for the creature's features. It irked him to repeat whatever he said earlier but he still did it.
"All of them had white eye balls but except for the one which strangled my neck. only it had black ones and all of their lips were stitched with thread lines unevenly..." she said in a daze. It was more like she was whispering. "They had pale white skin... no it was very much of white as if blood wasn't flowing in their body. Deadly pale," she said the latter, all her eyes wide open. Fear was evident.
"The unknown dark creatures," he whispered but it didn't reach Vilian's ears.
"What else did you see?" he asked as he knew only a little knowledge of those creatures for they were discovered newly.
"They were wearing ragged white cloaks and had long fingers. I guess it only had four fingers which felt more like skeleton bones, steely and cold." Vilian shuddered by the remembrance of it, "And.. and it also had no nose but two holes. Perhaps, its nostrils?" she said scrunching her face. Astrel chuckled observing her expressions.
"What's so funny about this? Off... I must thank god for sending you on time or I do not know what might have happened."
"Dead of course." He said as if it was nothing. Vilian glared at him and turned to the other side.
Ignoring her look he asked, "How many of them were there?"
"Not exactly do I know but they were all around my bed. Might be around... ten of them?" she said her eyes wide open, eyebrows raised, and her index finger on her lips which made Astrel give a glance at her lips. "Do you know what it is, Mr. Astrel?" she asked, oblivious of her actions affecting the man.
Loosening his neck-tie a little, Astrel sat on the couch once again, not understanding why the girl's action was distracting him, for he never got such a feeling. Ignoring it away with a tired sigh he said,
"I'm not sure about it for it isn't known by anyone exactly. For now, they are called 'The dark creatures,' as they lurk only at night. That is what the ones who saw said but it looks like it's different in your case."
"But why weren't you able to see?"
"It is only visible for some certain people but not by a human," he said nonchalantly.
"Oh..." she said her mouth going in an O shape but then realization hitting her she screamed in panic, " Wait, what? What do you mean not human? Why is it visible to me?" she asked question after question.
"Haven't figured it out yet, Kitty." He said as if it was nothing scratching his with his pinky finger and looking it at it.
"I'm indeed a human. Wait a minute, you mean to say there's more of creatures unlike these?" she asked, giving a terrifying look and taking her legs up on the couch as if there might be creatures lurking under her couch too.
"Little kitty, you should be more afraid of the person in front of you than any of them," he said smirking.
"C...can I know... What you are?" she asked hesitantly and nervously, fluttering her eyelashes from time to time, than usual and biting her lips. An action of nervousness.
Astrel showed his fangs and licked them with his tongue.
"No... This can't be for real, right? You're a... a Vam...pire?" she whispered unbelievably, widening her eyes.
Astrel smirked and expected the girl to run away in fear but the next thing Vilian did made him taken aback.
