Chapter 102 - Lucky One

"We're going to die!!"

"Ahhahaha and you said that you wanted to get stronger!"

The next few days, Caelum joined their training watching Ul teaching them and only today had he started training the two about the foundation of getting stronger physically which involves a lot of running and endurance training. He made sure to add some gravity weights into them ensuring that they'll become capable mages. Ul was worried seeing the two but Caelum told her that it was important to have a strong body when training with their magical power since it would allow them to draw out more power.

He already analyzes ways in which they'll benefit the most in training. At first the two were eager to see what he was going to teach them only to soon realize that they made a mistake looking at Caelum as if he was a demon.

"Giving up now? Are you letting this stop you in achieving your goal!?"

Caelum roared, making them more motivated with Gray determined to get stronger pushing ahead Lyon who didn't want to lose against him pushing their body to the brink of collapsing, falling into the saw as their muscles were torn to shred and out of breath. He felt rather proud that they were able to last this long after experiencing his hellish training. The others in the mansion already had endurance higher than normal children since they were able to survive being forced to work day and night nonstop. Ul quickly checked up on them but was relieved that they were still fine and just felt exhausted.

She asked why he was doing such brutal exercises since they were just children but reassured her that it was perfectly safe and held out his hand making her eyes go wide. He saw him use magic that restored their stamina and made the two return to how they were.

"I told you there won't be any danger. So do you still want to continue my training? You can decline now but I assure you that I'll make you two extremely strong."

The two contemplated since it was brutal yet felt that what he offered was guarantee to make them stronger than ever. Gray didn't hesitate if he could get the chance of having his revenge against Deliora while Lyon reluctantly accepted not wanting to fall behind his Rival. Ul was surprised that they accepted and a part of her felt proud that it didn't discourage them to get stronger. In the end they continued training with Caelum having the morning routine while Ul be the afternoon. He taught the two the foundation telling them the principles of his training and reason why it is crucial for the development of their magic. Caelum didn't teach them mana core since they already started again their Origin which were like reserves that weren't as dense compared to a mana core but still a reserve nonetheless.

The best he could do is unlock their second origin later to make them a lot stronger. The same issue with Laxus but he also didn't want to teach someone like him who could prove dangerous to take around him. In the meantime, Caelum trained the two day and night letting them learn how to utilize their body at utmost proficiency, wasting less energy when fighting. It is always crucial to think ahead when fighting someone to know when to attack or not.

This is also why it was important to increase their endurance and stamina to keep up fighting since it would be dangerous if they suddenly collapsed fighting someone. Only a month ago the two already showed progress and learned to spar with each other. Caelum had been staying with them providing a room for him to stay which he was grateful but told her that he's been training to not rest and though reluctant let him be. Ul was amazed when she saw him train at night doing repetitive strikes in the air nonstop as if he was an unmovable object. She couldn't help but respect him for being this tenacious.

Caelum hadn't improved yet his foundation was incredibly solid that the level of control he is able to draw out is more than 10,000x higher than normal. It was now early in the morning where Ul let his two pupils a day of rest since they deserve it and was about to head into the village to buy some supplies when she saw Caelum meditative stay covered in snow while Behemoth was behind him. She didn't want to disturb her and was about to leave when Caelum suddenly spoke.

"Ul? Are you heading into the village again?"

"Did I disturb your training?"

"Not at all, so are you?"

"Yeah, the supply is cutting shorts and got to restock. The kids are sleeping since they've been training nonstop for almost a month now. They deserve a rest for working hard."

"I see, well can I come with you? I'm currently reaching a roadblock with my training and thought maybe some fresh air would help."

"Sure, I might need some help carrying the stock."

Caelum stood up dusting off the snow letting Ul get a good look of his physique that was the definition of manliness as the separation was clear and his wild hair added to the effect. She never saw someone who looked like the perfect specimen of a man and slightly attracted to him but held back by her past which is why she is subconscious holding herself from further exploring the feeling.

He cracked some bones since his body felt stuff and took an outfit similar to Xeno Goku. Caelum isn't affected by the cold doesn't mean he likes to be shirtless specially when he is in public.

"Sorry, made you wait."

"No problem, let's go."

The two headed to the village taking them a few minutes to reach it and went to the market to buy some meat and veggies. Everyone in the village seems to know Ul quite well, having helped from time to time especially when bandits tried to attack their village. They all around looking for the best possible trade where Caelum spotted something that Ul was looking at. She seemed to opt for a bitter expression and had to guess that it reminded her about Ultear.

Caelum could try heading to save Ultear but he doesn't have a way to locate her especially he can't easily try using his source, which was the manga since everything has changed because of his influences. However, the best thing he could do is ask about and get lucky since Ultear was supposed to find her anyway.

'Luck high? Hmmm, I haven't tried making a skill in a long time with [ Creation lord,  Ahura Mazda ].'

Having decided to try and create a skill that manipulates the luck of a person which would be easier said than done but it's better to try since he has nothing to lose. Caelum knew that luck is connected to fate and knew that everything is predestined one way or another which is why his aim was to transcend that and ensure his victory. After a while, he carried the heavy supplies while Ul tried to stop him since he was carrying too much but refused telling her it was just part of his training and wasn't even struggling.

"Well, have it your own way."

She said walking back to the cabin that they were staying in and helped store the supply. Ul thanked him as he gestured for him to sit down and poured some warm coffee for them to drink since even if she is an ice mage doesn't mean she have to live out of cold things.

"...I am curious, hope you don't mind me asking but…I can't notice your Express change when you see that necklace."

Ul paused for a moment while she prepared the cup of coffee silently making it and turned to bring two cups, handing one to Caelum. She sat down taking a sip while Caleum didn't say anything until Ul was ready to tell him.

"The necklace reminded me of….my late daughter."

"Daughter?"

Caelum acts surprised even though he knows that she is safe and alive. If not then he'll just hope his new luck skill that he's going to make works. He was unsure if it would work but planned on combining [ Incorporeal Void ] and [ Dream ] to make the skills. He is unsure if the result would be what he intended and rarely makes skills since he feels it stagnant his growth. Regardless, chances are he'll attain a level of luck that gives him plot armor.

His skills can only get him so far since they're countless ways to negate them which is what he is determined to train since at least he's prepared to fight without his skill. Caelum also needs to find the method to ensure that what he gains remains his even after dying and reincarnating. Though, it was slim but there's still a chance to die.

Ul looked into the window and began to tell her story about Ultear making a bitter expression. She was gripping the cup tightly the more Ul got into the story forcing Caelum to act and touch her hand to calm her down, surprising her a bit.

"Are you alright? You can stop if it brings bad memories. It's my fault for asking, I'm sorry."

Caelum knew this still did so since he  wanted to grow closer to her and make Ul trust him. This was the only way to do so and Ul wiped the tears in her eyes.

"No need to apologize. I was the one who was willing to share, which is odd since we just known each other 3 weeks."

"I get that a lot, people seem quicker to open up to me than normal people. Anyway, I feel like it's possible for your daughter to be alive."

Ul look at him confused and angry with a hint of hope at the same time asking what he thinks. She had been told that her daughter died because of her sickness.

"Tell me...when you heard about what happened to your daughter...did you feel anything? Did you feel...sad? Grief?"

"...I-"

"Or did you feel...worried...that something is wrong…?"

"...Yes...I couldn't put it into words until you said it...but there really was this feeling...that...that she's still out there somewhere…"

Ul said then paused for a moment thinking about it more regarding her daughters, a piece of hope seemed to reignite inside and seemed to want to confirm if her daughter truly died or not.

"What do I need to do if she's….actually alive? Would she be disappointed that I thought She died!?"

She grew bitter again thinking that something was off and made her realize that there is more to it than she thought. Caelum saw her inner turmoil begin to calm her down, telling that she can't change what is already done and the best thing is to find out the truth. Ul calm down thanking him for making her realize that it was possible that her daughter was out there alive.

"If you need any help I assure you that I'll do my best to help."

Caelum said finishing up the coffee having conversation giving Ul some time alone to think what she needs to to do. In the meantime Caelum went outside to lean on Behemoth before trying to create new skills that could affect his luck and probability of things. The first thing he had to do is bring out the [ Incorporeal Void ] evergh along with [ Dream energy ] churning the energy into his Golden Core then through his veins before to his Sea of consciousness straight into his soul trying to create the skills that can evolve.

It took him some time making sure it was able to make the world flow into him and noticed the subtle changes happening as his desire slowly turned into a reality.

[ I see you're making a new skill. Well let me help a bit ]

Cereza joined in assisting him with the creation, putting the pieces to get her while making sure no lasting damage happens to his soul and body. He rarely uses this energy because of how dangerous it is to him and the world like you're adding new features to already functioning code and could create a disaster from it similar to a domino effect.
