{MAYA}
"I don't know about you but I am feeling 22, everything will be alright…" her phone sang.
That was her morning alarm and it was true she was 22 and she felt like a 22 years old lady, she stared at the watch and it was five A.M so she hit the snooze button and went back to sleep.
"I know about you, I am feeling 22, everything will be alright…" It sang again and she felt like she would wake up and break the damn phone for waking her up. She felt like she had slept for seconds since it rang.
She stretched out from her bed and walked to the bathroom like a zombie. She used the bathroom and walked out. Leaving the bathroom, she walked to her sitting room and screamed when she saw someone standing there.
"Forgot about me, sweety? How are you?" Her mother said and kissed her on the forehead. Her mother handed her a cup of coffee and after a few sips, Maya looked at her mother and greeted her then asked her if she had stayed up the whole night.
"Mother how many cups of coffee have you taken?" Maya asked her mother and counted the cups on top of her sitting-room table.
Her mother always did that, when she worked for the whole night, she took cups and cups of coffee, she had no problem with that she always told her family they shouldn't worry about her, if her mind was not with her then she would have to force it to be.
But why was she working this hard when she had everything?
If asked, Amelia Smith, Maya's mother would tell you she was working because she loved her work. She was a lawyer, and the best one in town, she won most of the cases and mostly they were pro-bono.
Her family loved her for that, Amelia didn't care about the money, she was at the stage of her life where she was okay with the money she and her husband had.
With a husband who is a doctor, the youngest sons began to earn as soon as they knew how to talk, the eldest son worked on a variety of projects and earned lots of money, plus Maya who was now almost finishing school, Amelia Smith didn't see a reason to continue searching for money.
If she got cases that paid, she took it, and other times when she took pro-bono cases, she told herself, 'let it be.'
She only had one daughter whom she supported fully and that was Maya's little sister, Nadia. She had just finished high school and was ready to join college. Amelia was happy with her youngest daughter as she had chosen to follow in her footsteps.
"I want to be like you mother," Nadia would always tell her mother and truthfully, she loved everything her mother did and had applied for a law school which her mother had no doubt she will get accepted.
Mother and daughter were talking about how life was and it was what? Six AM in the morning?
The family was always close to one another and they all shared the ups and downs any family member had.
"So, yesterday after you went to sleep your brother called when they heard I was here they said they were going to come, they are shooting a movie which isn't far away from here," Amelia said to her daughter.
"Brother? Is Roy shooting something related to his work?" Maya asked surprised.
Her mother looked at her and wondered if her daughter fell off the bed when she woke up and had hit himself on the head, and then as if realization hit him, she chuckled and said, "Oh! I mean brothers, like the brothers who are actors, Levi and Lewi."
"Mmh, I am going to tell them that, I can't wait to see their reaction, their mother referring to them as one. This is good."
"Hey, they look alike." Her mother protested. They then continued talking back and forth about how much Levi and Lewi hated when their mother referred to them as one. Levi and Lewi Smith were twins, eighteen years old, and actors.
Levi and Lewi had begun their acting career when they were young, Amelia's friend who was in an advertising company had used them in a baby product advertisement and after that, they had gotten offers after offers.
Amelia Smith and her husband had given the twins a chance to leave their acting career telling them they were not obligated to it but they had said they loved that, and they had continued being actors.
But Amelia had one huge problem, Lewi and Levi were inseparable and sometimes, it made her worry. What if they never separate? She always asked herself the question. They were eighteen yet in most of the movies they acted in, they were both on it.
It was on a rare occasion that each worked on a different movie.
If asked they would give the same answer, "We shared the same house for nine months."
Maya hadn't been worried about them but as soon as they turned sixteen, she began wondering how they will be when they got someone special in their lives, and as much as she and her mother were worried; Nadia, Roy, and Mr. Smith were not worried at all.
Roy Smith was the quiet one in the family; he was an introvert and growing up he had told his parents that he wished he had a twin so he would spend time with him. He was a biologist and most of the time he was busy doing research.
"Can you please ask around if it's possible to separate them? Maybe a study has been done at the hospital." Amelia had one day asked her husband who was a doctor. Blake Smith who is a doctor had told his wife to calm down and the twins would separate when they wanted.
But there was nothing wrong with them being close, right?
"What time is it mother?" Maya asked her mother and when she heard what time it was, she run to the bathroom and took her shower so she would go to the university. Maya didn't like to be late to any of her classes, call her a nerd and she would tell you she had rules, and she had to adhere to them.
If she has a class to attend, she had to. Yesterday she didn't because her mother had sent her.
Maya finished taking shower, wore her clothes took her bag, and left her bedroom, "Mom, tell Levi and Lewi to finish all of the food from the fridge," she shouted to her mother as she left the house.
As she arrived outside, she stared at her car and shook her head, she didn't want to drive to school.
"If the sun wants to kill me, then let me fry to death," Maya whispered to herself and started walking to school.
