Bitten

"I mean no, I don't want to go out in the garden," she said, trying to control her voice from shaking. 

Iris lowered her head to avoid seeing the shock on the nurse's face. She felt ashamed of how she acted, however, she could not say the words sorry to the nurse because she wasn't really feeling sorry. She was raging with jealousy.

She could not believe that Calixto had the time to talk to the nurse, and discuss her but had no time to see her when they all lived under the same roof, she could not believe him! 

Iris was shocked by the intensity of her jealousy. She could not believe that she would act as strongly as she displayed with the nurse. 

"I'm ready," she said in a small voice. She wanted to disappear in her shame. She uttered a silent thank when the nurse injected the intravenous in her arm, acting like nothing happened. 

"All done!" She brightly declared, patting her shoulder. "Do you need me to do something before I go?"
