Chapter 4 - Magic Affinities and Family Vault

It's been two weeks since I made a start in my future plans regarding the threat that will come in the future.

But in these two weeks a major event has happened in my life.

I'VE AWAKENED MY MAGIC, hehe

A couple days after finding out about Julius being a simple magic knight not a captain, my magic awakened and you won't believe my affinity's.

I've got three. Runic magic like my ancestor. Wind magic like my Mother and Lightning like my Father, but my Wind and Lightning magic is more of a combination magic so currently I have to use them together but in the future when I'm more skilled I believe I'll be able to use both Wind and Lightning separately.

(A.N: Think of the Wind and Lighting like a Kekkei Genkai from Naruto together they make I believe typhoon release, so that will be his magic along with Runic magic)

So after I awakened my magic, My Parents held a small celebration for me. We also did an Affinity test which is how I found out about what affinity's I have for in magic.

This caused another celebration as I'm one of the very, very few in our family that also possesses Runic magic.

After the small celebrations both my parents told me that they will begin my magic training in a week or so, this training mainly consists of mana control as I've got a fairly large reserve they don't want any of my spells going haywire and causing damage to myself or others.

I did ask why we have large mana reserves if we're commoners but my parents said they'll tell me when I'm older.

— 2 months later —

These last two months have been the most fun I've had in both my lives, after gaining some semblance of control over my magic I was allowed to use my magic when ever I pleased except for at the dinner table.

So I've been experimenting with the runic magic as I've got all the Knowledge "Minato" had about fūinjutsu I've been using that as a base for how my runic magic works.

What I've learned over the two months is the rune magic is both extremely simple and exceptional hard at the same time.

It works on the idea of writing out a function using my mana, for example if I write fire on a stick using the Kanji I've learned from the Naruto world then all I'd have to do is send mana into the stick and it would lit on fire.

The hardest part is I also have to have intent behind each letter and Kanji. It takes a lot of time and focus but I'm sure with practice and patients I'll master my runic magic quickly especially with the help of "Minato's" fūinjutsu knowledge.

Now onto some of the less boring stuff my experiments with my runic magic have been baring fruit. Currently my main project is to recreate the Flying Thunder God but unfortunately I've had only minimal success I believe it will take around a year and a bit to bake to use it to travel between towns I've placed a mark on and an extra 2 years to be able to use it in combat.

My other side projects consist of storage rings, room expansion through runes and other little project along the lines of some simpler to exploding tags or a lighter to start a fire.

— 2 years later (age 8)—

(A.N: as you can tell I'm trying to get through the childhood arc quickly)

It's been 2 years since I got my magic and it has been a blast so far. I honestly don't think I could live with out my magic anymore.

It's too useful even for simple stuff, like with the use of runes I've made a hot tub for the family, I also have a self heating cup for tea or coffee and even a self heat plate to keep my dinner hot. I'm living the life right now.

But don't get me wrong I've also been striving to make myself stronger for the threats in the future. I've been working on all Three of my magics, I've also been working out nearly every day currently I'm probably the strongest 8 year old in the world but that's mainly due to the in-house healer my parents got after a few of my experiments had blown up. With the healer staying in house I can work myself to the brink and they can heal me right up decreasing the need for rest days.

With my Rune magic I've no need to use kanji any more I just use English as no one can speak in this world. So now I just need to write the function on a surface and that's it. Of course the time and effort are still needed to make more complex runes like a gravity rune would take me about a month or two to just make one it's why I don't have a gravity room.... yet.

With my Wind and Lightning magic I've been progressing nicely with the help of my parents. Lightning being my favourite of the two is the one I've been focusing on more but I've yet to make any real spells same goes for my Wind magic.

Now onto my projects. Firstly I've figured out how the Flying Thunder God works and I've been able to use it to travel around the town my family lives in, I can't go to far yet as my body can't handle it.

Secondly I've actually made excellent progress with the storage rings and the room Expansion but it's still too early to put into use yet. But while trying to make a storage ring I did get inspiration to make a communication ring which I'll have done in a month or two.

"MINATO, Come down here we want to speak to about something" I hear my mother's voice shout out

"COMING" I shout back as I leave my study room, yes my dad agreed to give me a room to experiment with my magic in the house.

"Yes Mom want to you need?" I ask as I reach the main living room.

"Actually it's your Father here that needs you" She says with a smile as she walks past an ruffles my hair.

"Here come son take a walk with me" My Dad says as stands from the chair he was residing in.

"Okay dad" I say as I do a little jog to catch up with him.

"Where we going?" I ask

"To the family vault" My dads says to me.

"Family vault? I didn't even know we had one" I say

"That's because it's like a family tradition only allow any child in the family to enter after their 8 years old"

Continuing to follow behind him it does take long to for us to make it to a door I've never seen before, which is odd considering I've explored this entire house.

"Surprised?" I hear my dad ask

"I've never seen this door before" I say to him

"Of course you haven't you weren't allowed too"

"That doesn't make sense" I say

"Oh but it does" he said only confusing me more.

My father walks to the door and opens it while gesturing me to follow. With the door open I can see inside.

Inside the door is a near pitch black room that only has stairs leading downwards.

"Awaken" my dad says in a deep voice. Then suddenly the room is filled with light. It was so sudden I had to shield my eyes a little.

"Come on kiddo, it's time to learn the rest of your family history" dad says to me while taking my hand in his.
