Enrolment

The day came for the sisters to leave the estate and pursue academia. Liandra was the most excited of the pair, believing it to be her chance at making something of herself while proving her devil sister wrong. Estelle however, seemed all too calm about things. In her void of a mind, she already had a rough idea of what to do and where not to be. As long as she did not talk to certain people, Liandra would most likely have little contact with them either.

As for these people that Estelle did not want to interact with, Estelle could only describe them as main characters. Every one of them had the power to change this world and make life exceptionally difficult for their family if offended. The most dangerous one being the heroine.

In the carriage, Estelle sat opposite to Liandra. The older sister had a book in hand. She slowly flipped through the pages as the wheels turned. Estelle was in deep thought as it seemed.

"Elder sister, we should be talking to each other instead of sitting in silence." Estelle complained.

Estelle did not respond. It was as if the words just flew through both ears.

This was essentially how the entirety of the trip was. Estelle never spoke and Liandra could only groan in disappointment. She felt like she was speaking to a wall at times. There was no reaction and no warmth to be found. She was not surprised, Liandra knew Estelle was like this.

With a sudden stop, the carriage doors finally opened up. In what seemed to be a anticlimactic exit, Estelle simply walked out of the carriage with her luggage and went forward into the front courtyard.

Liandra followed suit, finding herself in a well maintained courtyard, complete with fountains and a grand garden. Flowers were in full bloom during this time of the year, along with many other beautiful flora. But perhaps what was the most satisfying thing would be the weather. There was sun yet it did not burn or glare. It was warm but not too warm. Everything about this scene felt just right, comfortable.

"Little sister, hurry up." Estelle finally uttered a command, turning her head back to make eye contact.

Liandra quickly reacted by quickening her pace until she finally caught up with her sister. She was not too sure why Estelle was so strict about keeping pace as they were early but she did not bother contesting. What Estelle says, goes.

"Hand." Estelle, held a hand to the side and gestured.

"Yes, older sister." Liandra grabbed Estelle's hand and held it firmly. She had practiced this enough to be confident, however, she still could not see this as anything but embarrassing. Estelle thought that they both looked like children.

After a brisk walk, they made their way to the admissions desk. It was located at the front of the academy. Unlike most places, the admissions desk was literally found outside of the main building. In front of the grand academy was a small desk. Where there was marble and dried oak, also laid something that seemed too temporary.

"Older sister, are you sure we are heading the right way?"

"Little sister, this is indeed the admissions desk. Because of how exclusive the academy is, they only have admissions open until a certain time. Afterwards, there are no exceptions since the admission desk will be removed." Estelle explained in on breath without sounding like she needed to breath.

Estelle then walked up to the admissions desk and retrieved a seal from her luggage. She carefully handed it to what seemed to be a current student of the academy. She knew this because they wore an upperclassman's uniform, which was welled described in the novel.

"Estelle Vermillion, I am here to enrol into the elite course."

The upperclassman carefully handled the seal and stamped it with an academy emblem before handing over a pamphlet to Estelle. "Your dormitory is located in building 3. The room number is 213A. All timetables and information have been deposited in your dormitory. You will find them by the beds."

Estelle nodded politely and inspected the pamphlet. There was an advance layout of the premises shown on the pamphlet, in other words, a map. Estelle looked through it carefully and walked off to the right of where the sisters came from.

"Seal, name and enrolment." The upperclassman directed his voice to Liandra.

"Liandra Vermillion, I am also here to enrol into the elite course." Liandra presented her seal just as Estelle had done prior.

"Your dormitory is located in building 3, same room as the girl that just left. Here is your pamphlet." The upperclassman handed over a pamphlet and gestured towards the direction Estelle had walked off to.

Meanwhile, in the dormitory room, Estelle had already arrived and unpacked her luggage. After walking out of view, Estelle sped towards the room and hurriedly sorted everything, thus she was already done with all of her main tasks for the day. All that was left was to read through her timetable and wait for her roommate.

Estelle did not relish the idea of having to share a room with a stranger but she had to accept the reality of her situation. In the novel, each dormitory housed a pair of students. All pairs were selected at random but were always of the same sex.

If she was lucky, she would end up with a quiet roommate that never bothers her. On the other hand she could be stuck with a nosy extrovert. Estelle would be fine with either as long as she did not have to share a room with Liandra.

I’m back with a chapter. Sleep management has been terrible along with time management.
