Chapter 296: Be with Me

Having dealt with Olga Johnston, it was time for Lucas Carter. Charlotte Cooper carefully saved the audio file, sent several backups to her email, then finally relaxed. She called Lucas.

"Lucas, can you come out and join me?"

Her soft voice was particularly captivating over the phone.

Lucas felt a jolt in his heart, he put down the documents he was reading, and asked worriedly, "What happened? Where are you, Charlotte?"

Charlotte held back her emotions, and forced out some choked words, "I... I had an argument with Henry Russell…"

Just when she might break down any moment, Lucas immediately dropped his pen to reassure her, "What exactly happened? Would you like to talk about it?"

"Please come over, I can't explain it over the phone. I really need to see you now!"

Charlotte seized the opportunity. She knew if Lucas heard her begging him like this, he would obey, and wouldn't be overly suspicious, making her plan go more smoothly.
