Ch 119 – Ubunga the Unrivaled Minotaur

Somewhere in the open savanna fields, a futuristic-looking bike was seen flying around at a rapid pace while a single person was riding on top of it wearing a white lab coat on top of a white shirt, black pants, and a pair of glasses prop in front of his glasses and slightly block by his black bangs.

"Oh? The signal spike up!" Rintarou mutters while looking at the floating holographic screen beside his peripheral vision with his eyes lighting up in excitement.

[Oh? You mean a mine is nearby?] Ddraig asks as he takes his attention away from the TV in their shared mindscape.

"Yeah, and it seems like this mine is going to be a big one! We might have hit a jackpot and got an A Tier mine!" Rintarou shouts while revving up the handle of the flying vehicle and accelerating it at faster speeds that left dust clouds in its wake and razing the grass on the ground near it.

[A Tier means it could supply you potentially you for a few months to more than a year right?] Ddraig inquires.

"Mmm! And because we're in Africa, then I can just own it illegally if I set up a simple camouflage barrier and no one will ever find it!" Rintarou shouts while multiple drones shoot out of the flying bike towards the air as more holographic floating screens appear right in front of Rintarou's vision to show the mine's status.

"JACKPOT!" Rintarou screams with furor as more thrusters appear right behind the flying motorcycle leaving behind blue flames in its wake, further accelerating its speed to reach the undiscovered mine he found.

And after a while, he stops the bike with a single break press and slowly lands on top of a field of grass in the middle of nowhere while the sun lies high above him leaving a blaring hot area around him but he doesn't care due to his modified physiology that could handle this heat with ease.

"Oooh, that Leo has been growing faster than I thought since the last time we met! Now it's time for me to also start speeding up the pace!" Rintarou shouts while taking out a weird dagger shape device in his pockets and stabbing it to the ground, and out came a beam of white light from the handle of the dagger that surrounds the whole area around them in a weird hemisphere barrier.

"Barrier set, commence worker bots," Rintarou said while twisting the handle, and from the sword part, multiple metallic balls shoot out directly inside the ground as they transformed into drills that slowly dig deeper and deeper towards the ground until they reach metal, and after a while, they slowly started to duplicate and improve themselves to become a better version than their past build.

After seeing that the bots are doing just fine, he lets out a sigh of relief while going out of the barrier to see the surrounding area around them which would be their temporary base for a good while.

[This place is pretty barren, not even a single animal in sight.] Ddraig said while wings sprout from Rintarou's back which he flaps to fly high above the air to glance around the area with an intrigued stare.

"Good good, this place is just right for my base to grow," Rintarou mutters while looking around further until he notices something else that caught his attention.

"Are those… mercenaries?" Rintarou mutters as he stares at a group of men in the far distance kilometers away and he focuses on a certain individual that seems to be their leader.

And as he did so, a new floating screen appears in his vision that shows information about the guy.

"Ubunga, leader of a nameless mercenary team that is based in South Africa going from one place to another… oh? Ubunga has been shown to have inhuman strength as if he was a raging bull or minotaur? Oho! A Sacred Gear user I suppose?" Rintarou said with an amused smile.

[You planning to challenge him?] Ddraig asks with a smile.

"Why not, besides, I wonder what it's like to fight a minotaur," Rintarou mutters, flapping his wings, he shoots towards the mercenary group in the distance and directly lands in the middle of their circular formation shocking everyone that was there.

"What?" the whole group said in confusion as they instantly points their guns at the middle of their camp while a big muscular black person walks out of a tent and looks at the cloud of dust with an interested gaze.

"Hello there," Rintarou said as the cloud of dust around him got dispelled by him swinging his wings around leaving the group surprised to see…

"AN ANGEL!" said one guy with bulging eyes as he can't believe what he saw.

"An angel? Well, an angel is still no match for my might!" Ubunga said with an arrogant smirk while a brown glow appears all around his body, indicating that he just activated his Sacred Gear.

In response to this challenge, black beetle-like armor envelops Rintarou's whole body while his wings retract back inside his body as the two look at each other with a challenging gaze.

"Uoh!" Ubunga shouts, getting on all fours and rushing towards Rintarou with all his might to challenge this new being that appeared out of nowhere.

But with just a single outstretched hand, Rintarou stopped Ubunga's raging tackle with ease as the might of his body was fully shown.

"N-no way!" shouts the whole group in disbelief.

"L-leader is… defeated?" the whole group mutters while shakily pointing their guns at the man who defeated their unrivaled leader.

"Tch, you're weaker than I thought. Science is truly more powerful compared to magic," Rintarou said with a smirk as his helmet retracts back to show his face that screams "pathetic" when someone looks at it.

"AAHHHH!" Ubunga shouts as his muscles bulge and the brown glow around him get brighter, grabbing Rintarou's hand that grasps his head, he somehow manages to remove it with ragged breaths as Rintarou was now intrigued.

"ARRGHHHH! I'M UBUNGA THE UNRIVALED MINOTAUR!" Ubunga shouts while golden brown armor suddenly sprouts from his chest adorning a yellow gem and soon, the armor spreads all around his body to form an armor reminiscent of a mythical Minotaur with sharp horns and monstrous muscles all around his body.

But with a smirk, Rintarou walks up towards the minotaur and with a single slap to the chest, Ubunga who just achieved his Balance Breaker was flung back far away, knocked unconscious just from a single attack from Rintarou.

With the mercenary group looking at the spectacle in shock, they drop down to the ground when Rintarou gazes at them with cold eyes that made their legs shake in fear at this being that appeared out of nowhere.

[HAHAHA! Minotaurs are truly puny in front of a heavenly dragon's might!] Ddraig said as if his pride is gaining a physical form.

As Rintarou walks towards the unconscious Ubunga, he crouches down right beside him and slaps his head to wake up him which somehow worked as Ubunga's eyes went wide open in fear.

"Ha!" Ubunga shouts as he quickly shoots up in a sitting position, glancing around the area with battle-ready eyes.

"Yo!" Rintarou said while behind Ubunga which shook him, and as Ubunga slowly turned his head to his back, he was greeted by Rintarou's amicable smile which almost made him unconscious once more.

"Oi, don't fall unconscious in front of me right now, I need to talk to you!" Rintarou said while standing up and lending out a hand to Ubunga which surprises him.

'I-is he gonna kill me? Or worse, torture me?! Is he gonna ask questions on what my power is?!' Ubung thought in fear and glanced at the outstretched hand with dilating eyes as if it was his impending doom hastily approaching.

But he sighs in his mind and grabs the arm anyways, and with a single tug, he was shot out of the ground into a standing position and became a little dizzy in the process.

"So your name is Ubunga right?" Rintarou asks with an amicable smile.

"Y-yes!" Ubunga hastily responds with a stiff body.

"Mmm, I can see that you hold some untapped potential for yourself! You managed to achieve your Balance Breaker form all by yourself which shows you have some hidden talent in you, and from your body, I can see you are a great warrior holding valuable battle experience. So here's the deal Ubunga, you work for me and I'll give you power, power that you never thought was possible! Shattering mountains, splitting the seas, and cutting the skies, you would be able to become a god amongst men if you simply work for me!" Rintarou said with a smile as Ubunga looks at him with confused but skeptical eyes.

"I understand your sentiments, of course, you wouldn't believe a random stranger who appears from nowhere and beats you up. But trust me, I only wish to help you achieve your maximum potential and become one of my glorious general under the banner of mine! And as a demonstration of my abilities…" Rintarou said while they secretly went to another parallel reality, and with his Balance Breaker: Scale Mail donning on his body, his strength rises through the roof which shocks Ubunga because that armor was similar to the one he wore a few moments ago which leads him to believe that Rintarou holds a power similar to his.

"I'll show you! THE POWER OF A GOD AMONGST MEN!" Rintarou shouts and with a single punch to the air in front of them, the howl of a dragon was heard bringing god's wrath to the mortal plane.

Mountains destroyed, the skies split into two, the land raze into nothing but drags as his punch left a huge wake in its path from sheer air pressure alone, bringing nothing but death and oblivion in its path of domination leaving Ubunga shocked as he couldn't wrap his head around this… power!

For thousands of kilometers, his punch went to leave a giant mark on this world as the clouds part ways for his unrivaled might.

"Now Ubunga… do you wish to join me and gain this kind of power for yourself?" Rintarou said while turning around to look at Ubunga with an amicable smile, a smile that holds nothing but pure kindness, but for Ubunga, it was instead the smile of a devil making an accursed deal.

"O-only if… only if my team gets to join along with me!" Ubunga said with his heart pounding as if it was about to shoot out of his chest.

"Hmm? What did you say?" Rintarou said with a confused smile.

"I-I'll only join if you bring my team along!" Ubunga shouts as he felt the area around them going deathly silent, the air stopped, the sound of grass and leaves rustling was gone, and the only thing he felt was the silent fear emanating from Rintarou who looks at him with a blank stare.

"Are you… bargaining with me?" Rintarou asks, breaking the silence but only for more fear to envelop Ubunga's heart.

"I-I mean-" but he was cut off by RIntarou who suddenly appears right in front of him grasping his neck into a chokehold in the air, he can already feel his head was about to snap off like a dangling piece of meat, he can already remember from that on Metube video how this hold is unscientifically possible and he would die in just a few breaths.

"YOU'RE ACTUALLY BARGAINING WITH ME HUH!" Rintarou shouts as he can feel his breath slipping away into the afterlife, and with a desperate plea trying to take off the arm grasping his neck, his whole vision suddenly change to the moment before Rintarou punched the air in front of them and now Rintarou looks at him with a teasing smile.

"I'm just kidding with you, of course, your friend group could join me, but your name is going to be G1-Leader now okay Ubunga? Have fun showing your friends the good news, just wait for me to reappear in a few minutes while I set up your new camp in HQ!" Rintarou said and just like that, Rintarou disappears in a flash leaving Ubunga there alone with a blank stare at the air in front of him.

'W-what just happened?' Ubunga thought with a smile cracking upon his face, slightly slipping into a path of insanity that few would be able to leave, but gladly for him, he shakes his head from left to right to regain clarity and sighs at how ridiculous this day has been.

His name was suppose to be Ubungga so Ubung-ga but I was too lazy and shortened it to Ubunga, but it's still pronounced as Ubung-ga so keep that in mind.
