Empty Shell

Nyx was married the following day to Erebus. The ceremony was small, with only her father, her servant Acacius, and her brother Eros, the god of love, bearing witness to it. She had stayed still during the whole endeavour, her actions on autopilot and read her vows out as expected. Her voice was cold and numb, revealing how she felt, but if the others noticed, they did not comment on it.

The only part of the ceremony she took more note of were the particular words that indicated the husband and wife parting upon death. Besides that, she stared ahead; her onyx eyes that usually sparkled with mischief and sometimes wickedness had lost their gleam while transfixed on the throne Khaos usually sat on.
