Chapter 4

He was mulling over the situation at work. A software giant had just offered him an obscene amount of money to purchase his security software company. He held over sixty patents on innovative security software programs they badly wanted. He knew that in taking the offer, he might put people, his people, out of work. He was already quite wealthy, but this kind of money would put him in the top two percent in the nation, and enable him to do all the things he always wanted to do for his parents and his family. He thought maybe he could negotiate to keep the jobs here in New Jersey, but he wouldn’t stay on. Perhaps if he sold he’d have to keep working for a while to help the new management get a feel for the business. But he wouldn’t commit to anything long term. He couldn’t work there and not run it, it wasn’t in his makeup.
