“We’re waiting for The Alpha and The Alpha Mate, Alpha Clavier, and Alpha Mate Ian. When they arrive, I’ll let them know we have to go down to the stationhouse. I’m sure you will do this expeditiously. We have made plans for the day.”

“Yes, Alpha Thierry, of course.”

Alpha La Marche arrived fifteen minutes later. Detective Murphy bared his neck. “Alpha Thierry, is the Alpha Mate ready to go?”

The four men stood in the small apartment. “This is where the Alpha Mate lived?” Armand asked.

“Yes, Alpha, he was very industrious. He went to school, acted as a teaching assistant, wrote his shifter novels and—”

“Jason Jones, he’s Jason Jones. I knew it when I saw the books. Every young were in New York reads his stuff!” That was the first time Armand saw Murphy excited about anything.

“Detective Murphy, your point?” Armand waited expectantly.

“Err, there was no point, Alpha. I apologize for my mistimed enthusiasm.”
