84. Compensation

The next day.

Izumi woke up with pain all over his body. He had absolutely no recollection of what happened to him last night. All he remembered was how he downed a glass of liquor. Nothing had kept him sober last night, so he didn't realize what he had done.

He wondered who carried him back to the bedroom at his inn. When he looked out through the window that he had just opened, the scorching sun was already rising above which dazzled his eyes.

Izumi closed the window again and sat on the bed. He sensed Kuroneko and Luffy's aura inside their rooms. Izumi was a bit surprised because this was the first time the two of them had not gotten out of bed, seeing that it was almost noon.

Izumi got up from his bed and walked toward them while scratching his head. He knocked on Kuroneko's door. However, since there was no answer as if she was still sleeping, Izumi tried to go in to wake her up.

It was just… Izumi instantly felt guilty seeing Kuroneko's appearance on the bed. She wore an inner sleeveless shirt with black panties which made her appearance look sexy with her petite body.

At that very moment, Kuroneko opened her eyes. Slowly, her blurry vision began to be able to see clearly and know that someone had entered her room.

Izumi deliberately kept a poker face while looking at Kuroneko. Kuroneko looked at him, then she looked down. Her face flushed.

"Don't worry, Kuroneko. You look so alluring. I can't even take my eyes off you." Izumi said in a serious tone.

"AAAHHHHHHHHH!!! YOU PERVERT!!!!" Kuroneko screamed. Then, she took out her divine sword and swung it toward Izumi.

*Slash* *slash*

With slash after slash, Kuroneko almost tore down the inn.

"Wait, wait! Calm down! If you destroy the inn, everyone will see your appearance!" Izumi tried to stop Kuroneko while dodging her attacks.

It was at that moment that Kuroneko stopped while grinding her teeth. She immediately looked for a place to put her clothes on and disappeared from Izumi's sight. Izumi breathed a sigh of relief.

"Well, at least I got a nice view." Izumi chuckled.

After that, Izumi looked for Luffy who seemed to be buried in the rubble.

"What happened?" Luffy asked in confusion. Izumi shrugged his shoulders.

"Kuroneko snapped, then destroyed this inn."

Izumi felt that he must compensate for Kuroneko's actions. Thus, he thought about the reward he should get after defeating Beldia. He urged Luffy to take the reward together at the guild.

"Wait, I haven't settled the thing earlier! Do you want to run?"

Kuroneko's voice was heard from a distance. She was already wearing her goth clothes as usual. However, she looked at Izumi with killing intent.

Izumi smiled bitterly.

"Kuroneko, don't tell me you're gonna settle here? There's a lot of innocent people, you know!"

"I know. I'll leave you alone for now."

"Can we forget about it? Let bygones be bygones!"

Kuroneko clenched her fists after she heard what Izumi said. She pointed at him.

"Y-you… How can you be so shameless? You have seen my embarrassing appearance like that and you want me to forget about it?"

"In that case, I'll take off my clothes so we're even, how about that?"

"YOU BASTARD!!!"

However, before Kuroneko could act. Izumi had already disappeared from his sight. Kuroneko could only keep her anger inside while grumbling.

"Just watch out! I'll pay it back when I get back home."

Kuroneko dragged Luffy to the guild. Because of last night's incident, Kuroneko was sure that the guild would ask for compensation for what Izumi did. But coming to think of it, since the reward for defeating Beldia should be quite huge, Kuroneko wasn't too worried about it.

Arriving at the front of the guild, Kuroneko saw Izumi who suddenly appeared from behind with a grin. Kuroneko snorted. She didn't care about him anymore because she was intent on getting her revenge once she returned to her world.

When inside the guild, everyone's eyes, both the adventurers and the guild staff, were on Izumi. He wondered why he could get such looks from everyone. Seeing Kuroneko ignoring him, he walked over to someone he knew, who was none other than Kazuma.

Izumi also noticed that the guild's interior was being damaged for no reason. He could think the guild's interior was damaged for no reason because he didn't know what was going on.

Surprisingly, when Izumi approached Kazuma, Aqua who was near him immediately backed away like someone reluctant to pay a debt from a debt collector.

He got a bad feeling.

"Kazuma, what happened? Why on earth are everyone's eyes on me? Also, why is she avoiding me?" Izumi asked while pointing at Aqua with his index finger.

"You were dead drunk last night. And here's the result." Without hiding anything, Kazuma answered him.

"Wdf!!" Izumi slapped his forehead. If what Kazuma said was true, Izumi was meant to be the culprit behind the damage to the guild's interior causing everyone to set their sights on him. Even Aqua was afraid of him.

He didn't know that he had a bad habit when he was drunk. Well, it was his first time drinking a glass of liquor. And it's also quite strong. Who knew that something like that would happen?

The receptionist lady walked toward him.

"Excuse me, Izumi-san. Please come with me to receive the reward for defeating the demon general, Beldia!" That receptionist lady asked him with a somewhat nervous tone.

Izumi followed her with a sigh. Then, he turned his head to see Kuroneko following him.

"What? I was the one who defeated Beldia. So I have the right to get that reward." Kuroneko said coldly.

"Well, I'm not preventing you from getting a reward. It's just, your mood seems to get worse."

"Who's fault was that?"

"It's me, it's me. Men are always wrong in the eyes of women." Izumi raised both of his hands to admit his fault.

"Tsk."

When they were in front of the counter, the female receptionist said,

"Sorry, due to what you've done last night, we've decided that your reward will be deducted."

"I knew it." Izumi said inwardly. Then, Izumi nodded.

The receptionist lady continued.

"You should get the 300 million Eris bounty for defeating Beldia. However, after we deducted it, you will only get less than a third."

"Wait a moment! How come you deducted that much?" This time, it was Kuroneko who protested.

Izumi was also quite surprised. But he waited for the receptionist to explain.

"You paid for last night's party. So we deducted from your reward."

Kuroneko glared at Izumi. Yet, Izumi said.

"Hey, I didn't think I said I paid for last night's party."

"Then, who else if not you? You're drunk last night, so you might have slipped." Kuroneko accused Izumi because he should be the one who was responsible.

At that moment, the receptionist lady threw a shocking truth.

"It was that straw hat Luffy over there." The lady pointed toward Luffy who was playing around with Kazuma.

"What the fucking prick!!!" Both Izumi and Kuroneko cussed.

Kuroneko swiftly dragged Luffy to the front of the counter. Then, she asked.

"Luffy, did you pay for the party last night?"

"Ah, yes. It was fun, wasn't it? We've been having a great party, eating lots of food, singing, and all sorts of things. It felt the same when I sailed in the ocean and had a party on the ship."

*Smack*

"Fun your head? You spent a lot of money on last night's party!!" Kuroneko was irritated by Luffy's unpredictable behavior.

Then, Luffy replied.

"Why should you care? We'll be back home soon. I'm also going to sail back out to sea. The money is of no use to me."

Hearing the answer from Luffy. Izumi laughed inwardly and was astonished at the same time. It was amazing that Luffy could use his head to think.

Izumi turned into the receptionist.

"Even though the reward has been deducted due to the party, it should still be quite a lot right? Is the deduction for guild restoration that big?"

"Well, actually it's not just the guild, because last night you injured almost all the adventurers and guild staff, you are required to pay medical fees for all of them."

The lady receptionist's words were like a bomb in Izumi's ears so he started to cover his face in embarrassment.

In the end, Izumi received the remaining bounty of 80 million Eris. The amount was no longer less than a third as the receptionist had said. It's only a quarter.
