Chapter 46

Terrence's conversation with his mother about his upcoming task went better than expected. She railed. She cried. She hit him a few times. But in the end, she gave him her blessing - reluctantly. With that out of the way, Terrence began preparing for his quest.

First, he spoke to some of the hunters and agents who'd been keeping track of the boundary's thin spots in the hopes of seeing a pattern to its disintegration. He came away baffled.

The weak areas appeared random and spanned the breadth of the world, and offered no clue as to the location of the box or the key. It shouldn't have surprised him. That would have been too easy.

He headed on to the next step. Research. Not exactly his forte, but that was what librarians were for.
