Penelope pretended to be interested in the hat loom she found in her counterpart's desk but she was really watching Jack as intently as she could to desperately soak up any scraps of information about this job. 

The hat loom wasn't the only 'keep busy' item inside the desk either. There was also a plastic container of kinetic sand and some Silly Putty. 

Glancing around at other nearby cubicles, there were all sorts of things like this. It appeared that people used fidget toys or other things like it during the long hold times when transferring to other departments. 

Jack ended up on hold for a few minutes at one point and frowned at her. "They still haven't fixed your computer?"

"Nope."
