Hack [Chapter 5]

This morning Ryan was in a rush and didn't even have time to fix himself breakfast before running out the house, he didn't even get to run a hack either, so he would need to do it at work. His body might be stronger now but the fatigue of yesterday still got to him, this caused him to oversleep, hence running straight to work this morning.

While turning the last corner, since he took the train instead of a taxi, he ran straight into someone. It was a woman with long Burnette hair and beautiful facial features, Ryan would place her in the top three of beautiful women he has come across.

She squealed a little as she fell back from hitting him, reaching out he made sure to catch her before she could fall down, "I am so sorry about that. I am in a rush and wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Ryan said while holding her by the waist.

"No it is also my fault I was reading something important while walking and wasn't watching where I was going." She said looking up at him with beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

"Beautiful." He spoke unconsciously looking at her eyes, he then shook his head coming back to himself, "Ahh it seems that I waisted your coffee, ummm I have about..... Eight minutes, can I buy you another?" He said looking down at his watch but at the same time he didn't want to leave her just yet, she was just that beautiful.

"No don't worry about it. You seem to be in a rush, how about we say you owe me one." She said with a smile as she bent down and picked up a folder full of papers.

"Sure, Can I get your number?" Ryan asked surprised by himself since he didn't think that he would actually ask something like this.

From the looks the woman was stunned too as she looked at him with wide eyes but then she smiled slightly, tearing off a small piece of paper she started to write something on it. Handing it to him she gave him a wide smile, "This is my number, if I don't answer it is because I am in the middle of an experiment, just text me."

Ryan took it and looked down at it, 'Jane Foster- XXX-555-0167' she actually had given him her number, the only problem was that he didn't have a cell phone. Not telling her that, "I will try and reach you sometime this week for the coffee then."

"Great can't wait for it." She smiled and moved past him while patting his chest.

After she was gone Ryan came back to himself and ran to the restaurant surprised at himself today, but he did say he was going to change so he smiled getting use to the new him. When he got there the head chef teased him, "Wow you are five minutes late.... what are we going to do with you?" he joked.

Ryan smiled slightly it was funny because he was a stickler for time which always made him show up ten minutes early, at the moment he was only five minutes though. That was why the head chef was teasing him since he would usually show up way earlier than this.

Moving to his station to set up he finally sent out his hack, by the time he went home he was hoping to be able to have enough to upgrade the system. He got 211 last time so he was hoping that he got way more than that this time, if the shadow didn't focus on the ants then maybe he could.

At the same time with the new amount of strength it had if it could take out all of those ants he would have more then enough, seeing the shadow leave he tried to convey those thoughts to it. He wasn't sure if it got the message or not but it did take off a little quicker, hopefully by the end of the day maybe I could get another Dimensional box or something else.

With this he was able to cut faster when it came to his work, during the work day people kept giving him compliments telling him that if he kept it up he should be ready to be a real cook soon. Ryan smiled and hoped so, with this job he could level up these skills way faster, because the Knife/Dagger Skill also gave him some combat techniques to use just incase he was being attacked by someone.

The Dagger skill was something that he could get from the system but since this wasn't a specific skill then it wasn't something that was upgradable by Ability points. Although it was minor when he left work that day he was happy to see that this was something that was coming along, though he didn't know what others he could gain.

That Night....

Getting home the first thing he did was sit on the couch and check the hack, "System show it to me." He said feeling excited.

Ryan was stunned but happy hearing all this, even now his shadow was still fighting in the war with the ants, he could only shake his head at what they were doing. It seemed that he pissed them off enough that they were evolving and learning tactics to take it down.

Finally he had enough to upgrade the system but when he thought about the next cost he cried a little, this was going to be hell on him but he was still excited. He had plenty to put into his stats now though which made him smile, though he was going to wait until he opened the box before he changed his stats any just in case.

"Open the box please." He said out loud, luckily no one was around and looking at him crazy for what he was saying and doing at the moment.

"Yes." He said without question.

The information poured into his head about using this, it was a fist technique which is something he needed at the moment, smiling he was giddy learning about it. The gentle fist targeted the pressure points of a person, using soul power he was able to make them paralyzed their body outlined the moment he used it.

The cost was ten soul power a minute, this just let him know that he was making the right decision in waiting. Standing he used gentle fist and his body went into a low stance as a light blue film wrapped around his hands, he could feel the pressure it was letting out making him grin widely.

'Four Palms!' 'Eight Palms!' When he wanted to use more his body felt a fatigue and he almost coughed blood, looking at it his soul power hit zero, leaning over he gasped and tried to catch his breath. Since his soul power was to little he wasn't even able to get past eight palms, but from what he knew it went passed sixty-four as long as it was upgraded.

Sitting down he let himself rest a moment before upgrading his skills all he could before upgrading the system, Gentle Fist went straight to level 4 while he was able to get Diamond body to level 4 too. Diamond Body was still at Copper but his body was strong enough to take on two trucks hitting him, it wouldn't go to bronze until after level ten.

Nodding at that he started to allocate all his exp points into his status starting with Soul Power this was his main target at the moment. Looking at his new stats he was satisfied with them a lot.

His intelligence might be past a thousand but he didn't get any smarter, according to the system he was at the IQ level of 210, it couldn't go higher then that. This was already enough though it wasn't like he was using his brain a lot in the first place so he accepted it and moved on.

It was now time to use the last thousand to upgrade the system, this was what he was most excited about because with this he would get that store function that he learned about. "Alright system it is time to upgrade you." he said with excitement laced in his voice.

[At the moment you are in the middle of a hack, would you like to stop it for the upgrade? Warning: If the hack is not stopped before upgrade then all Exp Points and Ability Points will be lost when the system is back online.]

"Yes stop the hack then." He didn't want to lose even a single point.

Well although he hated that he couldn't hack while it was upgrading he was glad that his skills weren't locked or anything, that would just suck if he wasn't able to use them. But a whole five days without being able to use it sounded terrible, he had gotten use to it being in his life and now he needed to learn to be without it.

While he was waiting he decided to learn to use Gentle Fist and Renewal Taekwondo more, though his body was technically a master at it his mind still needed to get to where his body was. Going into the kitchen he laid out a plan to do this five days without it, mostly being training while the rest was cooking.

After a quick meal he went to sleep, sad that his system was on lockdown.
