She was adamant on taking everything on her own.
She knew she should have asked for their help but she still didn't because she felt like they will be burdened even more.

She was having such thoughts while they were running all the tests on her.
Slate and Gabriel were busy in the tests that they didn't notice that she had gone silent and serious after finding out Slate's specialization.
"What's wrong?" Slate asked placing his hand on top of her head.
"No, I was just thinking why I didn't try to rely on any of you when all along I could have tried to speak with you guys about it."
Slate stared at her.
"Now knowing that you are actually an eye surgeon, I felt stupid somehow."
She chuckled bitterly.
Slate nodded at Gabriel before pushing her towards the room that she will be using.
After helping her sit down on the bed, he sat on the chair facing her.
