Prologue 1

A calm, silent, and peaceful life was what Yu Xuan wanted when she was born. And she gotten it, her peaceful life was amazing everyday. There was nothing bother her, as if she was separated from the world.

While everyone was hanging out, doing their own thing, she often watched from afar,, and read books to use up her free time. Yu Xuan could do this because she was exceptionally smart, she was easily able to make her own money, and having a stable life.

"How nice."

Taking in the fresh air as she stood in front of the library, somehow, she felt as if today was going to be eventful. Reading has always been a passion for her, but she would never write since she didn't want to. There were some things in life you want to do and things you just don't want to.

Writing was one of them.

Entering the library, the managers greeted her as she headed towards the section she always were. There was a batch of new books that was displayed on the shelf, taking two of them, she took a seat, and started reading through it.

The first book she read was called, "Vicious Young Miss Rules Over Everything." It didn't interest her that much so she skipped through the chapters and went to the end. The vicious female lead, Song Liya, basically takes over everything at the end. All of the cannon fodders were ignored and sent off somewhere.

The female lead was not only vicious, she was also cruel.

The second book interested her more, it was about a girl who died and was reborn as a swan. That was something she's never read about before, it certainly was interesting.

When she tried to get up from her seat, she somehow couldn't move at all.

"Did my legs fall asleep?"

But it wasn't that, she could still feel her legs, but she just couldn't move her body. In the next second, a bright light enveloped her vision before passing out.

"Yu Yingyi! Wake up! It's time for breakfast!"

Huh? Wasn't it already past afternoon?

She realized she was laying on her bed, "This better not be one of those transmigration novels." Yu Xuan muttered as she got up.

Looking around, she was in a different room, and the city that was outside the windows looked different. She walked in front of a mirror and was even more surprised, not only was she transmigrated, she looked different as well.

Then she recalled something, the woman she heard ealier called her Yu Yingyi.

...that's when everything hit. She was transmigrated into the first novel she was reading and became the cannon fodder! How could this be? She didn't even do anything to deserve this, all she wanted was to live a peaceful life.

Yu Xuan was quick at adapting things or should I say Yu Yingyi. Although her appearance did change and she was in another body, her soul was still Yu Xuan. But referring to herself as Yu Xuan would be complicated, she chose to stick to Yu Yingyi.

"Coming!" she quickly yelled.

But before that, she decided to look through the desk for any information. That was when she spotted a letter on the desk, when she opened it, her heart trembled for a second. It was a suicide note, it was written that the original Yu Yingyi has been depressed for a long time due to bullying from other kids saying she was poor and looked disgusting.

Yu Xuan couldn't help but be mad at some people in this world, luckily, she never experienced this in her past life, but this was still cruel since she was now Yu Yingyi. She quickly tore the letter in pieces and stuffed it inside the desk where it would be hidden. Looking at the calendar that was on the wall, it said January 1st, 999, meaning there is still a year left until the story started.

Though she was quite confused since the novel never stated anything about Yu Yingyi being depressed at such an early timeline. That's when all the memories of the original Yu Yingyi entered her mind. It was filled with people laughing at her with their evil faces, it was as if they were demons. There was kicking here and there, all of their actions were inhumane.

Yu Xuan staggered a bit, but regained her composure when the memories stopped flowing inside her head. Once again, she couldn't believe there was people like this in both worlds. But that was in the past, Yu Xuan was now Yu Yinyi.

And just like in her past life, she's going make her life as peaceful as possible. Which means she'll avoid the female leads and male leads as much as possible, there won't even be a plot.

"Yingyi!" her mother called out.

"I'm done!" Yingyi yelled back.

Walking out of the room, she couldn't help but pity the original Yu Yingyi's life. She was poor and her father died before she was even born. Respect to her mother though, she raised her single handedly. Her mother's name was Yu Yangli if she recalled correctly, not much about her was revealed in the novel.

"Good morning mother." greeted Yingyi.

"What took you so long today? You would never come down this late." said mother.

"Haha~ I might've slept a bit too late." said Yingyi.

"Yah! Make sure to get proper rest. Here's breakfast, I have to go to work so clean up after you're done." said mother.

"Okay, take care of yourself." said Yingyi as her mother walked out the door.

Yu Yingyi looked at her breakfast, it was a small bowl of rice with a few sausages. It may seem small, but this was a whole dinner in her lifestyle. Taking bites of the food, she savored every taste of it. Even if it was cooked with the cheapest ingredients and utensils, a mother's cooking was always delicious.

While she was eating, she started to take notes.

A year from now, her family will go broke and the imperial family will take her in as a maid. She would definitely avoid that as much as possible, the plot would begin whether she wasn't there or not. To avoid that, it was very simple. Simply don't go broke, with her knowledge of her past life, it was going to be easy, but it would take a while.

"I'm going to get quite busy this year."
