The master had no idea what Titan meant by what she wrote.
"Do you mind explaining what you wrote? And why aren't you speaking? Do you just enjoy writing?" she scoffed.
YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO HEAR ME SIGH LET ALONE SPEAK.
"And why is that?"
Titan didn't write anything on the paper. She just simply shrugged her shoulders. It was obvious she didn't want to answer the question so the master didn't press further.
"That scroll in your pocket is very important and I'll have to see what's in it." she stated.
Noticing that Titan would not budge, she spoke again. "You can read it out to me if you feel uncomfortable with me holding it."
Titan weavered a little but still didn't budge.
"Fine. You can call the shots. If that would make you read it out."
Titan thought for a while she then decided. She took the writing brush and paper and began to write.
LETS MAKE A DEAL. SELECT ANYONE FROM YOUR SCHOOL TO CHALLENGE ME. IF THE COMPETITOR WINS, I'LL HAND OVER THE SCROLL BUT IF SHE LOOSES, I'LL STUDY HERE AND YOU WOULD SPEAK NO MORE OF THIS SCROLL. This was the longest thing she had ever written. She wanted to earn her right to be here and also keep D's scroll. She had no idea how to do that but she could at least try.
The master scoffed. This little creature looks so confident. "Anyone?"
Titan simply shrugged to her question indicating that anyone would do.
"Don't blame me for being unfair."
Titan didn't weaver at the master's meaningful words. She just maintained a nonchalant face.
"Fine. Then what competition would this be?" She wondered what this little, interesting creature would say.
Titan dropped legs and placed her hands on the table pushing her torso forward. She stared at the woman before her for a while then leaned back on the chair lazily then wrote, YOU DECIDE. I'LL BE WAITING TILL..... WHENEVER YOU'RE READY.
With that, she stood up, bowed to the master then walked out of the office leaving the master dumbfounded. "This little creature has no idea. I'm glad I saw that scroll."
As she stepped out of the study, she met with Zian who was standing outside the study.
"How did it go? What did she say? Did she scold you too much? You shouldn't have behaved like that. She's very power and I'm sure she won't let this slide. Oh my! What do we do now? This is all my fault, I should have informed you that she doesn't like boys around. I was the one who brought you here and now your the one that'll get scolded."
Zian kept blabbing to the point that Titan couldn't understand somethings she was saying. She had thought Zian would be mad at her for behaving how she did but instead of that, she was putting all the blame on herself. Titan really couldn't understand how the people here think.
Zian was moving back and forth asking questions that she didn't even wait to be answered. Titan reached for her hands and shook her gently. She nodded her head slightly then closed her eyes and opened them calmly. Zian didn't know why but this simple act of Titan made her calm.
After she was calm and could finally speak audibly, she asked, "What did she say?" Although she was scared of what the answer would be, she still asked. Titan showed her widest smile which caused Zian to blink continuously. 'Why's he grinning so widely? Isn't he scared of the possibility that he would not be able to recover from being beaten for days? What's so funny about that?'
Titan didn't say anything neither did she try to make Zian understand. She just sat on a bench which was kept at the long hallway leaving Zian confused.
Zian spoke no further, but sat next to Titan with a worried expression clear on her face.
After a few hours of waiting, the door to the master's study cracked open. Zian could feel her legs shaking because once the master gets angry, no one would be capable of making her calm but to her utmost surprise, the master stepped out of her study while maintaining an expressionless face. She then walked up to Titan and her lips curled up in a sly smile.
'How can this be? I thought the master's face would have turned purple due to anger but she is giving the little cutie a mischievous smile. Oh well I guess I dont know the master that well. Ooh... So creepy!' Zian thought.
"Are you ready?" Was the simple question the master asked.
Titan nodded her head while maintaining a serious face. It felt like her aura changes in seconds. Sometimes, she's an adorable little child while other times, she becomes unfathomable.
"Follow me." Titan stood from where she sat and followed the master. Zian also followed the duo towards the exit.
When the got to a field, Zian was confused as to why the master had brought them here. They only use this field for battle training. 'What! Dont tell me this little cutie is going to fight a battle. But the most important question was, who was she going up against? Who would it be?' She wondered.
"You asked me to choose a challenge; so here we are. What do you think? Do you accept this challenge?" She snickered, surveying the area as she turned round at look at the field with one of her hand placed over the other fixated at her back.
She turned to look at Titan hoping to see an ounce of fear in her eyes but found none. She was intrigued and surprised at the same time. 'This child has some guts.'
Titan had her hands folded on her chest and her emerald eyes seemed like they could pierce through the deepest, darkest soul.
"You didn't even ask what type of challenge this would be and who you'll be up against. Ha! So naive. Anyway, I didn't make this task unfair. In fact, I think I was being too lenient. " She paused for a moment and then called out to someone. "You may come out."
When the person came to sight, Zian froze. "I thought she just said she was being fair but this is far from being fair. This is terrible. No! In fact, this is cruel. Ah No! This was inhumane. How could the master choose this person of all people?" She murmured.
