Not everything was as expected

The first few days living inside as human house had been interesting and rough for Apryl and she was sure the same went for her parents. There had been a lot of smells and noises to get used to. The floor was also weird to walk on as well. The wood the most similar to what see was used to but carpet felt oddly soft and tickled the underpads on her paws. It did however feel nicer to lay on compared to other surfaces. The bed was another interesting item she hadn't figured out if she liked or not. Her mind told her it was like heaven because of how soft it was with the way her body just sunk into it like she was laying on nothing, but that was what made her body feel weird about it. It felt too soft as though if she let her guard down she was sink through it and end on the floor or be sucked into it. Her body won in these situations as she wouldn't be able to relax even if she wanted to while her body was feeling twitchy.

The curtains in her room remained closed at all times as she hadn't gotten used to learning how to hold her shift while in human form rather than reverting back to a wolf.

she had been trying really hard to get the hang of it since coming to live in this house but only yesterday did she finally learn how to hold her human form for an extended period time.

The first time she looked at herself in mirror as a human it disturbed her because she didn't look like herself. It wasn't that she looked bad as a human, she just didn't feel like she looked like herself as she stared at her reflection.

She had long hair that was one shade away from being black which was similar to the color of her fur. Her eyes were golden which was odd because her eyes as a wolf had always been a chocolate brown. She was a also slightly shorter than she had expected to be. She didn't realize that the height in werewolf form wouldn't convert to human form. She wasn't sure how tall she was, but it was too short for her liking.

The only one thing that let her know it was her reflection was the heart shape birthmark that was on the end of her nose. It didn't look as even as it did when she was in wolf form but it was the one thing that let her knew her reflection was indeed her own.

Her mother probably wouldn't have been happy to know she had not only gone back to her wolf form the previous night when she went to sleep but that she also was still sleeping on the floor. Summer was hyper worried that she wouldn't be ready to go by the time she needed to enroll un classes at the local college.

It didn't matter how many times she assured her mom that she was getting the hang of it, she'd still ask her to stay in human form as much as possible to make sure that there would be no problem when it came time for her to start at college. She humored her mother as much as possible during these times to take away some of the stress from her, but at night Apryl still felt most comfortable sleeping in her wolf form. With her dark fur and curtains remaining closed, she didn't feel that there was much of anything to worry about because no one would be able to see her unless they entered her room through the door which was very unlikely that any strangers would be coming over.

She couldn't blame her mother for being stressed though. Even though they were safe, not everything had ended up going as found. Her father and Summer's mate never came back. They had no way of knowing what exactly happened to him or even his brother and the rest of the pack.

The second day everything had gone as planned, Brazen had gone back that night to see who was going to be coming with him and who wanted another day to decide. They only one day left before the rain would be stopping and the moon would be too bright for them to make any more risky trips for a few days.

He had decided on the second for reasons that he didn't explain to anyone that Timid and Oreo would be coming back with him on the second day along with two of his younger daughters. Bold still hadn't made up his mind and the rest of boys were too nervous as well to commit yet to what they wanted to do. Brazen didn't like this, but he didn't do anything to pressure them or even try to talk his brother into coming with him, he gave him space to make the decision on his own.

The third day was when everything became weird. He and Lydia went just like they had the previous two days at night to go fetch whoever else wanted to come from the pack. One of the males decided that he wanted to come be with the rest of the pack. Brazen helped him get settled in the back in his wolf form and went back to talk with the rest of the pack. One of the last girls decided she wanted to come as well, but Brazen told her that he brother was already there and Lydia would help her get in.

Lydia could feel by his attitude that there was some thing wrong with the situation, but she didn't have a chance to ask him because he already disappeared again. She waited for over thirty minutes for him to come back, but nothing happened.

The two in the back were getting anxious as well. Amber and Casper were their names and she tried asking them if they knew what was going on, but they said they didn't. Everything seemed fine when their father was there and Bold wasn't even causing any problems with them deciding to leave or behaving in any aggressive sort of manner.

Even without his brother around, he hadn't been causing problems or trying to convince the rest of the pack to stay behind from what they had seen. Hearing all of this however did nothing to calm down the knot that Lydia felt in the pit of her stomach. Something was wrong with the situation, but there was not much that she could do about it.

She doubted that Bold would kill his own brother, but if there had been any type of altercation, as a female wolf there wouldn't be much that she could do to step in, plus if anything happened to her, she couldn't report the situation back to Summer and let her know what to expect. The only thing that she could was roll down the window and try to call out and see if she heard anything.

She gave it five minutes, but of course there was no reply back or anything that sounded like trouble. Biting her bottom lip, she made the decision to head back and let her cousin know. The pups were thrilled about it, but they understand the situation and that it would be better for them to leave and for her to come back at a later point if necessary to try and find Brazen.

Lydia was surprised that when she did make it back and reported the situation to her cousin that she didn't seem as in shock as she had expected her to be. If anything, it was almost as though she anticipated something like this would happen. Of course, she couldn't hide the look of hurt that passed through her eyes when she heard the news.

Summer didn't say much about the situation however, except that it probably wouldn't do much good for anyone of them to go back out and search. Like Lydia, she knew that Bold wouldn't kill his brother. At most, there would've been a fight over the alpha title, if Bold beat Brazen, he would force the other to stay behind as part of the pack rather than kill him. A way to make him suffer for making what the younger brother felt was a bad decision.

Not only that, but because of the rain, most any scents would've been washed away by the following day which meant that there would hardly been any type of trail left to follow. They would just have to wait and see if he ended up coming back on his own.

The older pups were the only ones that Summer bothered explaining the situation too. Overall it didn't go over very well, especially for Apryl, she felt guilty for not accompanying her father like she had wanted to. She had always felt like something like this would end up happening if he went on his own, but he insisted that she stay back and make sure that her mother was taken care of while he was away and someone needed to be there to help with the pups.

Apryl was usually very stubborn in situations like this and would've argued with her father until he agreed that she could accompany him, but she saw the point that he was making and agreed to stay back against her better judgement.

Looking at her human self in the mirror after she had gotten dressed, she wrinkled her nose. Now with the situation as it was, it would do her no good to try and go find her father. She needed to focus on getting everything in order to help her mother and other siblings.

For the time being Lydia and her mate were doing their best to provide everything they might need while they were adjusting. But, they didn't have that much money and extra resources as it was to help take care of such a large family for an extended period of time. Which is why Apryl knew that even if she didn't want to, she needed to enrolled in college as quickly as possible and become accustomed to navigating being around humans so that she could get a job and start supporting the family.

Her siblings were trying to adjust to everything as quickly as possible so that they could help out as well, but so far she was on the only who had learned to hold her human form long enough for it to be safe for her to be around people without worry. Everyone was too stressed out that any time there was a strange noise or sound, they reverted back to their wolf forms and would go into hiding or become agitated and aggressive.

Thus, most of the time they stayed with their younger siblings in the soundproof room, unless it was at night when it would be safe for them to be around without stress of being seen or heard.

Apryl sighed as she put her hair back. Three more weeks and there would be at least three or four more little monsters making a huge fuss and running around. They would need to settle living arrangements as well. There was no way that their large family were going to be able to continue living under the same roof for more than a few months. They needed space as nice as the house was, there was no enough rooms for everyone to have their own space or to even think about getting mates.

Timid and Oreo did their best to help with the pups, but they hadn't even tried to change into their human forms yet since they had moved in. They were both to scared of what might happen if they did. Being omega made them worry that if they transformed, the others might nip and bite at their unprotected skin which would allow them to be more easily injured without their fur.

There was no real concern about this as Apryl had assured them she would keep everyone in check, but they were still too nervous to try. Lydia had even tried to reason with them, but the presence of an unfamiliar wolf only served to make them more nervous.

Apryl had already decided that if she ended up being the first one to move out over time, she would probably have them move in with her to take the stress of her mom. Being smaller of size and not so off colored from appearance of dogs, she was sure she could pass them as pets if they came to live with her and by then still didn't want to transform into humans.

All of these things, she could worry about later. Right now she needed to leave for college or else she was going to be late for signing up.
