Ulke smiled in pleasure seeing Dairon press against his wound, probably to stop the bleeding.
"What? You can't heal yourself anymore, can you?" He mocked. "You should have stayed out of my life, Dairon."
"He never wanted to be in your way!" Alaya yelled, grabbing onto the bars and trying to break them in vain. "All my son wanted was to be a carefree demigod. He didn't intend to interfere with your life."
"So, you can't even speak for yourself anymore. You have to let your mama do the talking for you." He kicked Dairon in the gut, letting him fall onto his knees. He looked down at his helpless son and sneered.
"It's already bad enough that you were born to kill me. How can my son be such a weakling?"
Dairon remained silent and took the kicks and punches while biting down on his lip.
The more Alaya begged him to let their son go, the angrier he became. She could only bite down on her hand to stop herself from saying a word.
