Every woman has their own story of how they met their first love.
For Watanabe Rin, it all began during the very first day of class during her second grade... when the most handsome yet the quietest boy she had seen happened to come to her eye.
A boy who happens to be Mori Ken… the sole heir of the Mori Group who also happens to be their partner in the trading industry.
The first time she saw Mori Ken, he was just sitting nonchalantly on his desk while the rest of them wrestled or read a cartoon magazine in order to figure out what their fathers would buy them next on that exclusive elementary school built for little socialites like them.
It was at that time Watanabe Rin immediately knew that she likes this boy… for he seemed to be different from the rest.
A confident grin curled up on her thin, pinkish lips by the time Watanabe Rin found the courage to walk straight towards his direction and introduce herself.
Mori Ken looks plain bored when he lifted his head up at the moment when she approached him.
Before Watanabe Rin could even utter a word, Mori Ken was the first one to speak.
"What a bunch of brats, living off their parents' money and having no dreams or passion except for the stuff around them," He dared to speak. Watanabe Rin finds herself in awe at how such a child can speak like that.
Ken continued, "Most of them don't really value what their parents are paying for their education and just fooling around. Some of them only think of what to spend out of their parents' money that they haven't even earned for themselves."
Watanabe Rin's lips parted in astonishment. Such brilliant words from a smart-looking boy!
"Well, my mother always trained me to fit in our socialite society in order to someday be accepted." Watanabe Rin darted a curious glance in the boy's direction, who only sighed inwardly.
"At least you know what's your place in this world. I've been trained my whole life to follow my dad's ridiculous orders, and I don't really want to be like that honestly," Mori Ken confesses. "I want to be someone else, a different person from his expectations of being an heir to his multi-billion assets, that is."
"You mean you want to explore other possibilities?" Rin genuinely wants to know what's been running on his mind right now. She wants to enter into his world and be with him someday. In order for her to succeed in that, Rin figured out that she just needed to be close with him, nothing else.
Mori Ken suddenly jolts back in his seat that almost gave a jumpscare to Rin.
"Yes! You are definitely right!" Then Mori Ken pauses and tilts his head in Rin's direction and smiles at her. "At least there is someone who can easily understand me…"
She was immediately stunned to her place. And here she thought Mori Ken is such a complete snob like most of the socialite kids!
When Watanabe Rin saw his gorgeous smile for the very first time, she felt a small part of her seven-year-old heart skip a beat in that instance.
Yet no matter how pretty his smile can be, it didn't also escape Watanabe Rin's careful observation that it somehow also contains a small portion of loneliness wrapped in it.
And it is in her understanding that she is responsible for unlocking that mysterious contrition in those beautiful pair of gray eyes so Rin would have some idea on how to empathize with him.
Unfortunately, before she has the chance to do so, Mori Ken suddenly vanishes without a word before she has the chance to say her goodbyes.
Now, as if fate was on her side, Watanabe Rin sees the man of his dreams once again. And she would never allow anyone or anything to separate them once more.
Not even this stumbling block that's currently standing on her path! A stumbling block who happens to be Hayashi Sakura…
Watanabe Rin sweetly smiled at the girl who is now giving her a confused look. Of course, that's understandable since they hand in their applications in an impulse after threatening three other girls to leave the book club so that she and her friends could fill in their spots.
By doing so, not only can Rin be close to the man she has had her heart set on, but also she can keep her greatest enemy close by her side most of the time, ensuring she doesn't mess her precious one up.
It's just like hitting two birds with one stone, right?
Watanabe Rin smiles at the back of her head for a job well done of formulating that brilliant plan inside her head.
"I thought you're already in Drama Club?" Sakura finally voiced her concern as she spared a look at each one of the girls who are currently standing beside their club president.
Watanabe Rin almost rolled her eyes at her. Well, yeah... she assumed that it was the club in which her beloved Ken was going to end up. She didn't realize this guy was on charity work and was willing to help this lousy club gain new members more than it had for years.
How shameful on their part to use Ken's good looks for such selfish acts!
As Rin smiled innocently at Sakura and at the girl she hated since high school, she said, "I realized that in order for me to become a great actress someday, I need to study a lot of books. And I know this club can help me achieve that."
Of course, that's not true. Watanabe Rin sure isn't fond of books herself. But before pursuing her dreams, Rin had already decided that she would pursue the man of her dreams first.
Sakura and Yuna only gave her blank stares. What she said doesn't really make sense at all!
Yuna can't help but scowl at her, "Oh, really? Because as far as I know, causing drama is part of your DNA."
"Right," Sakura echoed. She still remembers that underground post that Rin made the other day that nearly destroyed her peaceful life in school.
Watanabe Rin puts on her best to act sincerely apologetic for her previous actions before saying, "Oh come on now, that's already part of the past. I promise I'll make up for it if you'll just give me a chance."
