Aegis smiled as he watched Qrow and Raven's interaction.
To Aegis, the thought of not liking his sister, at least on familial love, was anathema.
But he could understand that both Qrow and Raven were completely different people with different personalities.
Raven was a selfish, cowardly survivalist with a bleak outlook on the world.
The Qrow was a man broken by his semblance and trying to protect what was left from his family meanwhile drown his sorrow in alcohol.
"It seems that your plus one is a very conflicting person, Headmaster."
Aegis said, and Ozpin just sighed again at his decision of bringing Qrow with himself.
Ozpin truly missed his coffee, but he was still shaken by the fact that Raven was Maiden, and if he should guess, she was Spring one, meaning that with Leonardo's death, the vault is very unprotected.
Still, Ozpin needed to lead the conversation, or he would risk Ironwood or worse, Qrow meddling in this delicate matter.
"Mr.Schnee, seeing your trust in Raven, I will not continue your choice in that matter, please be careful, but on the lighter topic, I must congratulate you on securing two settlements that already proven to be able to withstand the Grimm horde."
Ozpin said, and he meant it so, after all, any kind of advancements such as this did raise people's morale, and after the Mountain Glenn failure, the people needed good news; it was just a pity that it is Atlas and not Vale who made it so.
In truth, Ozpin little admired the young man who was sitting before him. At such young age, he successfully led SDC, became a mayor of Mantle, and successfully transformed the dying city into the city it was now.
Truly Ozpin marveled at such a young prodigy, but if there was one thing Ozpin didn't like about Aegis Schnee, it's his motives. Jaques Géle Schnee was a man driven by greed; as such, he was easy to predict.
But Aegis Schnee, no matter how many good acts he has done, Ozpin couldn't shake a feeling of wrongness when he looked at his steps.
And that was something unsettling to someone who lived for thousands of years.
Ozpin came there to gain answers to his questions on what kind of person Aegis Schnee was but already now, he could feel that it wouldn't be as easy as he hoped.
Ozpin feared to ask something in worry of slipping up now that Raven was there and clearly on Aegis's side; Ozpin didn't know what Raven said to Aegis, but he didn't want to risk letting a man with such influence and power as Aegis know about the truth.
Ozpin had experience with letting influential people, like Aegis Schnee, know the truth about the shadow war, and it always ended up horribly as they weren't huntsmen that were strong and trained to fight Grimms; they always panicked and done more wrong than the right to cause.
So Ozpin just promised to tell the truth just to Headmasters and huntsmen who were brave enough and strong enough to bear such weight.
Maybe that was the reason why he was so bitter that someone as strong as Raven given up on fighting.
And that was the reason he wished for Aegis to join the huntsmen academy, where he or his members of the brotherhood influence and guide Aegis to the right path.
"Thank you for your kind words, headmaster. Still, I want to know the reason why the headmaster of Beacon academy wanted to visit me? Perhaps businesses proposals?"
Aegis asked as he gained an idea of what he could help his agenda.
"No, no such thing, but if you wish for business between SDC and Beacon Academy, I would like to know more; but no, I came there as I was curious about you, mister Schnee, and maybe ask you if you wished to join my academy, after all from what I heard you are a very talented fighter."
Ozpin said, and Ironwood wanted to protest but stopped as the idea of Aegis Schnee joining Atlas Academy filled him with dread.
"You heard? And from where? Ah, I see a singing bird, right?"
Aegis said as he looked at Qrow, who just smirked at Aegis. Aegis didn't know if Ozpin meant Qrow, but Aegis didn't care as he didn't forget that Qrow did spy on him once.
Aegis gets a sudden urge to main the smirking bastard.
"Fuuuu, please, Headmaster, there is no way for you to know that im a good fighter, not without acknowledgment that you spied on me."
Aegis said, and there was a dangerous glint in his eyes as Ozpin gripped his cane instinctively at the sudden drop of warmth in the room.
"Don't, don't say anything."
Aegis said, and now he looked at both Ozpin and Ironwood.
"I do not care about your games, gentlemen, but do not try to play with me. I do not like when someone tries to control me, and I do not like when someone tries to take what is my."
Aegis said and looked at Ironwood, and Aegis knew that as general of Atlas, Ironwood had all rights to take anything that could help Atlas without much problem.
But Aegis will not have it; the incident with Bastion droids newer stopped irritating Aegis even to this day as he didn't like to give others what belonged to him.
By the law, Ironwood had right, but when did Aegis care about the law?
"But we did deviate from the topic, Headmaster Ozpin; what would you say about the idea of SDC becoming a patron of Beacon academy, im sure that upgraded training droids and discount for dust shipments would help your cause of training next generations of Remnant protectors."
Aegis said with a smile as helping Beacon would help him in securing the relic that was there.
Not to mention Aegis wanted to have a better eye on Ozpin, and the droids could help in it.
"Training droids, you say?"
Ozpin asked with interest as he knew that SDC was more advanced than Atlas when it came to robotics, and having better-sparing partners for his students would help him immeasurably.
"Yes, I will send you details, and General, I don't mind giving you ones too if you promise to not let any of your people trying to look into them and have just SDC personnel managing them."
Aegis said with a smile, and Aegis knew that it was impossible for them not to look at how the droids are made; no, Aegis didn't care about some training tools. What Aegis wanted was to let SDC personnel into both academies.
"Oh, and im sure that we could even make a deal about a discount on Snow coffee."
Aegis said and watched with no small amount of amusement on how both men's eyes lit up in joy about the idea of drinking one of the most delicious coffees on Remnant.
"Let us speak."
Ozpin was first to speak as his addiction taken over his more reasonable mind.
Qrow just shook his head and gulped from his flask as he saw both Ironwood and Ozpin caring more about coffee than about discount dust or droids.
Raven just smirked at them as she stood behind Aegis again.
Weiss, who was watching the entire meeting on her scroll as Aegis gave her access after she asked him, was looking at Ozpin with an evil smile.
Weiss get an idea on how to extend Schnee's power for her brother, just like Winter wanted to work for Atlas military, Willow had her charity, Weiss too wanted to help her brother, and now she saw an opportunity, she just needed to think it more through.
