Her words did nothing to dim the smile that spread across Victor's face. It was a sight for sore eyes, an expression that lit his features from the inside and banished the shadows from his hazel eyes, if only for a moment.
Eve blushed deeper, knowing that Victor was smiling because of her. It was unnerving, to see that rare expression on his normally serious face and to know that she was the reason for it. It signified deeper feelings from his side than a simple lust or a desire to regain a degree of control he once had on people around him.
Eve knew very little about feelings, especially so gentle ones, and she didn't like to not know. If it was a natural science, she could've learned, but she doubted that even psychology books could help her there. The most she could do was to do her best to draw clear lines.
'Yes, clear lines,' Eve repeated, taking a deep breath and giving Victor a dirty look.
