Weapons and Haki Training

Vincent asked the two kids what weapons they were going to wield

"So what are you both going to pick?" asked Vincent

"For me, I want to dual-wield both swords and guns." said Alex

"I would want to wield a double-bladed scythe that could become two separate weapons." said Franco

"Alright so for Alex two guns and two swords and for Franco a double-bladed scythe." said Vincent while thinking 'Certainly for Alex he wants to be like his idol Roger as he also wielded a gun and a sword but the only difference was that he asked for double. While Franco has a very odd choice and he said that the blades of the scythe could also be wielded separately. What? Does he want to look like a mantis? Nevermind, I'll just give them what they want.'

"Okay I'm going to give you both some tips on how to improve how you both will wield your respective weapons. But, if you both slack on your physical training I will take away your weapons. Am I clear?" said Vincent

""YES SIR"" said the two kids in unison.

In a secluded part of Mt. Killuo, there were two kids, one who was practicing his marksmanship and sword skills and one who was wielding a double-bladed scythe, training intensely for 2 hours trying to get used to their respective weapons. They have been doing these types of training for about 2 weeks already and they have been steadily improving in their weapons of choice.

"HAH HAH, you still good there Franco?" asked an exhausted Alex

"HAH HAH, of course captain this much can't tire me." said Franco with a smug expression

"Okay you all take a break now. Rest is also part of training so you should all take a break and enjoy the scenery outside of this cave." said Vincent as he was standing outside of the cave while breathing in the fresh air.

"A'ight pops, we're coming. Let's go Franco." said Alex while Franco just nodded and followed his captain

While they were looking over Momon Island and enjoying the scenery from above Vincent spoke to them "This is what we should be living for."

"What do you mean pops?" asked Alex but before Vincent spoke up Franco spoke instead

"He means the little things captain. The little things are what we should appreciate in life. Whether it's doing chores with your family or just playing with your friends or whatever it is because these are what we're going to miss when it is the time, we finally set sail."

Vincent just smiled and ruffled Franco's hair as he looked at the sun setting with his two pupils while wondering when the time will come where everyone is free and happy interacting with other people. A time where there is peace in this cruel world.

"Well, we better get going since I do not want to know what will happen when both of your moms get angry that you both are still not home." said Vincent as he shivered when he thought about both their moms getting angry

Two years have passed since that event and now two 10-year-old boys are training on the beach with their weapons while an old man was watching them. They were Alex, Franco and Vincent who were currently training at Fecta Beach. Fecta Beach in Momon Island was famous for its super fine white sand that was smooth to touch. They used this as a training ground since the sand hinders their movements and it helps them move efficiently and faster when they are back on solid ground.

After their training session today, Vincent called both boys and told them "Tomorrow I will teach you both something new and something needed if you both want to survive when sailing in the sea. So rest up and go to the Ruhn Forest tomorrow."

"Okay Pops/Alright Uncle" said Alex and Franco

Alex and Franco woke up extra early today as they were excited with what Vincent would teach them today. So they quickly got ready and went to Ruhn Forest and waited for Vincent.

After waiting for a while, they finally saw Vincent coming to them. They quickly asked what he will teach them today. Vincent just said one word "Haki."

"Ehhhh? Haki? What's that pops?" asked a curious Alex since he remembered that his pops told them that this would be important when sailing.

"Basically it's when you use your spiritual energy to either dodge incoming attacks even with your eyes closed, coat your body or weapons to have more damage or for more defense, and the last one where you could make people faint because of it. But the last one can only be awakened by a certain group of people like one in several million people can awaken this type of Haki." explained Vincent

"THAT'S SO COOL! ARE WE REALLY GONNA LEARN THIS?!" asked an excited Alex while Franco asked, "How are we going to train our spiritual energy Uncle?"

"Well for the first one it's called Observation Haki and to train it well one of you wear a blindfold then the other one will hit the head of the blindfolded one with a stick. Then just try to dodge the stick." said Vincent while laughing

"Oy pops you aren't joking with us, are you?" asked Alex as he could not see the point of this exercise

"Of course not, just repeat this exercise and you will sense the stick and dodge at the right time. Oh, by the way, you might be hitting each other a lot longer if you don't awaken it so better awaken it fast WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA." said Vincent as he watches his two pupils smash each other's head
