Chapter V: The darkness that stalks Horwich

Everyone was surprised and scared by what they saw, which Aiden asks them:

-see what I see?-

-And... and... that spirit over there, of course we see them, can't you see that we are scared," says Lenz.

In that the spirit, approaches them a little and begins to say:

"-Welcome, guardian, you have managed to find the entrance to the most amazing secret of all time, from generation to generation the key has been passed on to each guardian but none so far has managed to find the entrance. You must find the secret and protect it, you cannot let it fall into the wrong hands"

Aiden, though scared, asks him to come out of it:

-hey spirit! -What or who is the secret supposed to be protected from?

-"a darkness is stalking this city, if you do not protect the secret of this evil being all will be lost"-

-But how will I know which one is the evil one," Aiden says.

-"you will know it when you see it, you will feel its presence... you as the guardian of Horwich must protect them... good luck... protect them"-

The spirit disappears, but leaves a glimpse that blinds again all; immediately after he disappears all manage to see an altar in the center, they come closer and notice that this altar had four small statues distributed as in the cardinal points and each one held what seemingly was a crystal, it had a lot of cobwebs all began to clean it to what Hobson cleans the lower part of the altar and notices a plate, he calls the others and begins to say:

-hey guys! Check this out.

- That's a plaque and it has something inscribed on it - asks Madysin

- he says... "the four guardians to their king will protect... with cloak and sword their people will defend from the clutches of evil... and with their victory... a great power will be granted to all" - says Hobson

-I don't understand, kings, guardians, fights... should we recreate a battle with these mini statues?

-I don't know, he says of a battle... but I don't understand either- says Aiden

-Lenz grabs one of the statues, but it was as hard as a rock and very fixed to the altar, so they couldn't move. Seeing Lenz's failed attempt, the young Madysin asks:

-and now what do we do?

-I don't know what you're going to do but I know what I'm going to do - after saying that, Lenz takes a picture of the plate and Hobson confusedly asks him:

-and why are you taking a picture of it? -Do you want them to discover us?

-I don't hesitate... it's for us to analyze it later... I don't think we'll solve it right now- says Lenz

- Wow Lenz! Sometimes your genius comes out of nowhere," Madysin says.

- I wish I were that way in math," says Hobson

- Hey, I'm trying, but my mind can't handle numbers or science or whatever," says Lenz.

-Easy everyone, it's late... Lenz pass us the picture so we don't leave all the burden to Hobson and let's get out of here - says Aiden

Lenz hands them the photos and they all leave. Before leaving the library, Elder Graham approaches Aiden and says:

-protect us... you are the only one who can save us, you have a great responsibility in your hands... I see that your destiny is beginning to be forged now... protect us...

Mr. Graham leaves before Aiden can answer, the young man just tells him that he will do his best but the old man doesn't seem to listen, Lenz finds Mr. Graham's attitude very strange and after that everyone goes home. The next day everyone was in the classroom waiting for math class but the teacher did not arrive, after a while what seemed to be a teacher entered the classroom and told the students:

-Good morning students, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Assistant Principal Colbert, and I'd like to inform you that your math teacher, Professor Kempis, will not be coming today for personal reasons:

-does that mean we have the rest of the class free?

-Aiden raises his hand and says

-hey... you're not like the director, you seem more friendly-

-not all of us are weird, there are also normal people here too, here among us the director Raimondi spends more time combing his moustache than looking after his students and the institution.... A... before I leave, remember that the mayor will be here at the high school, behave yourselves a little and don't let us down, see you later-

Vice Principal Colbert leaves the classroom, everyone starts talking to each other, in one of those Brithany's he approaches Aiden and says:

-Hello Aiden, did you always help your mom? -

-yes... I had to help him with some things, besides making dinner- answers Aiden

-Aaa good one... and you liked our outing? Because I had a wonderful time.

-well... I knew most of the city, so it wasn't a bad start, it was good- answers Aiden

Brithany begins to touch Aiden's hands as if to seduce him, in that Madysin and Emma who were in the front desks see them and Emma says:

-Do you think Aiden likes Brithany? -

-I don't know, but in my opinion Brithany is not the girl for him, she is very... I don't know superficially- replies Madysin

The young man tries to take Brithany's hands off his arms, she takes them off and as if to try to get the young man to kiss her, she throws her pen on the floor and says:

-There's my pen!... -Excuse me a second I'll get it-

-Don't bother, I'll get it for you," Aiden says.

The two look for him but the young man finds him and starts looking ahead to see if he can see Madysin but in that Brithany gets in front of him and it seemed as if the two had been staring at each other almost as if to kiss, in that Aiden tells Bry:

-Here's your pen-

-I'm sorry for the trouble, you shouldn't have done it," says Bry, but she takes Aiden's hands, and Madysin sees them and tells Emma:

-I can't stand any more corny stuff like this, we'd better get out of here-

-You can't stand the corny stuff or you don't like Aiden with Brithany," Emma says.

-better go...-

Madysin leaves the classroom with his friend but Aiden sees her and tries to knock but she doesn't pay attention. The young man runs to the door, knocks again but Madysin doesn't seem to hear him:

-You'd better not have done anything to her, and I'm telling you again to make it clear that she's my girlfriend.

Ezequiel leaves, the young man decides to leave the classroom to find Madysin and explain what happened. Walking down the hall Aiden sees his mother, missing her from high school, and tells her:

-Mom? -What are you doing here?

-Calm down son, you know the mayor is coming here today, right? -says his mom

-Yes... why? -

-I'm his secretary, I was going to tell you today after I arrived, I wanted to surprise you with the news-

-That's good mom! I'm happy for you-

The mayor was approaching and said:

-Oh, Miss Rowell, I've been looking for you... -Come on, there's work to be done.

-One moment, Mr. Palk, this is my son, his name is Aiden," answers Mrs. Rowell.

-I'm very pleased to be the Mayor of Palk-

They both shake hands and in that Aiden remembers what that spirit had told him that he would know who that evil being was that was stalking the city just by looking at him, that's when the young man looks at the mayor's face noticing a strange tattoo on the right side of his face and his eye turns completely dark orange, the young man couldn't believe what he saw before his eyes.
