------------------------------
Edward got annoyed here. Although Ned was his friend, he should not meddle in his affairs like that. That was the method he came up with for his rule.
"Shut up and sit, Ned. Did you see me kill anyone other than the lords from Stormsland?" Said Edward with an angry tone. He did not like anyone to question his decisions. Call him a tyrant or anything, but that was how he was.
Ned was shocked a little as he did not remember Edward getting angry and yelling at him like that. He shat up and started to think about what Edward said. Although Edward took many towns in the Reach and Crownlands, no one heard Edward did anything to the lords' families in those lands.
"As I told you before. My honor is my family, and when my family gets hurt, I will lose my honor. I already lost a brother, and I won't lose more. Those who betrayed you when they swore an oath to protect you are the ones that should get killed so that I can set an example for the others. You have your way, and I have mine, so don't question me." Said Edward faking all this. He portrayed the image that he was hurt a lot and dishonored by his brother's death while, in fact, he was admiring himself in his heart for coming up with such a plan.
Ned Stark shut up after hearing this as this was the first thing that he had heard from Edward back then when they first met in the Eyrie. It seemed that Edward's goals did not change, but his methods did. Ned could only sigh and not say anything more as he could not accept such acts.
"What was the term we all agreed on when we started? Was not I the one that came up with the no-hurting for the children and women of House Targaryen? I am not doing such things because I like it but because something like that must get done." Said Edward explaining further, showing everyone his innocence. Edward could come up with a million plan to frame the others while showing everyone that he was innocent.
"Ok, both of you, stop it." Said Jon trying to calm the situation between the two. He did not want both of them to fight in this situation.
"You are going to lead the battles from now on, Edward." Said Jon ending this conversation with this after getting a nod from Edward as it was Edward's plan from the start.
Edward came to Riverrun to attend the wedding of Ned Stark and Jon Arryn. The wedding had got delayed for a long time. Edward wanted to march and take King's Landing before Rhaegar, and the Dornish army returned, but it seemed that was not going to happen. Rhaegar rode with the Dornish Army and descended to the Reach. They gathered another ten thousand men from the Reach and used the Redwyne fleets to transport the soldiers.
Edward ordered his men not to intercept them as he did not want to lose more soldiers. He had been restraining the Reach, Crownlands, and Dorne by himself since the Rebellion had started. It was time to share the casualties and burden with the other houses. The Vale only needed to subdue some of the Rebelling Houses. The real first battle for the Northern men and The Vale's knights was the Battle of Holdfast. As for Edward, he not only killed the rebelling lords in Stormsland, but he also attacked the Reach and took part of their lands while restraining Dorne. Edward's fleets captured the royal fleets and surrounded Dragonstone. So yeah, Edward would stop the Dornish and The Reach's armies himself.
Edward was the one who would lead the upcoming battles, after all. He would position the other house's men in the location where most casualties could happen, especially the Tully's.
A month passed in the blink of an eye. Ned and Jon married Carylen and Lysa Tully finally, while Rhaegar managed to return to King's Landing with the Dornish and Reach's armies. He tried to convince his father to ask Tywin for help, but Aerys refused. Edward always wondered what would happen if Aerys really asked Tywin for help. Tywin was shameless, and although he hated the Targaryens, if he found that there was a chance for them to win this war, Edward was sure that Tywin would take it. He would, of course, demand Aerys to annul Rhaegar's marriage to Elia and marry his daughter instead.
The two sides were preparing for the final battle. Rhaegar led the army of the crown and headed to Riverrun to end this Rebellion. Although he wanted to do so, he doubted they could. He knew that Edward would be the one leading the next battle, and with the armies of Stormsland, North, Vale, and Riverlands, there was no hope for victory.
Rhaegar had been blaming himself for the past month. Not only did he not get Lyanna's love, but he was the reason for the start of all this. Lyanna did not change her stance but even hated Rhaegar more. He forced her to marry him and put a child in her womb. If Lyanna did not want to kill the innocent child in her belly, she would have already killed herself. She already tried to take her life more than once before she got pregnant, but she got always stopped by Rhaegar and the maids.
Rhaegar even increased his threatening tone and madness. He was treating Lyanna as his whore, the same thing that Aerys did to his wife. Rhaegar's madness reached no limit at that point. His friend, Arthur Dayne, tried more than once to advise him but to no avail. Rhaegar was marching in the same direction as his father at the moment.
Rhaegar was living in speculation all that time and refused to hear any news from outside. All that time, he was trying to get Lyanna to love him when, in fact, he was making her hate him more and more. After eight months of taking Lyanna away and seeing that whatever he did could help, he decided to listen to the reports sent to him from King's Landing.
The more he heard, the more shocked he got. Not only him but Arthur and all his companions shared the same expression. It turned that the threats he told Lyanna came true. Not only did her father, but also her brother, Lord Arryn's nephew, and Lord Baratheon's brother got killed by his father. The Rebellion was already in its last stages. Lord Baratheon had unified Stormsland and defeated The Reach and was besieging Highgarden. His fleets took down the royal fleets.
Lord Arryn unified the Vale under him while Ned Stark led the Northern army down south, and both of them were making the final deal with the Tullys. Rhaegar could hear Edward's last words from the last time he saw him in the tourney of Harrenhal. "You disgust me. You are a disappointment." That was Edward's exact words.
