Chapter 33: Making fun of Stannis

A few minutes later, Cassana entered the hall. She could see her son, Stannis, discussing something with her brother and Lord Morrigen. Her son, Renly, was listening by the side. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that both of them were fine.

The men in the room noticed her and at once stood to greet her. She was Lady Baratheon, the Lady of Strom's End, after all.

Stannis nodded to his mother after seeing her. You could see he was happy to see his mother, but he was not good with words, so he just nodded.

"It is great to see that you arrived safely, mother." Said Renly with his honey tone. He was always good with his words, not like Stannis, who had a dour expression. That was Renly's talent. Everyone had to admit this, even if they hated his character.

Renly was a genius when it came to administration and words. It was made clear in the show when all the lords of Stormslands stood by his side. Instead of choosing his brother, Stannis. Stormsland also thrived when he was the lord.

"It is great to see you again, Cassana." Said Heldon as he greeted his sister. He was the closest one to his sister. That could be shown by him choosing to Storm's End to be by her side. Although there were multiple factors in that decision, he was the one from his brothers that volunteered.

"It is an honor to see you again, Lady Cassana." Said Lord Morrigen. He was the last to speak as he was the guest here and had to wait for the host to finish before he could say anything.

"It is great to see all of you again. You too, Lord Morrigen." Said Cassana as she signaled them to finish their conversation.

Everyone nodded to her, but when Cassana wanted to leave, Stannis's voice stopped her.

"Edward came back with you, mother, didn't he?" Asked Stannis. He was getting annoyed these past few days. He was doing Edward's work for him. Edward was the one who was going to be the lord, not him. So why he had to do Edward's job for him when he was not going to be the lord.

Although Edward and Stannis's relationship was the best among the siblings, Stannis had his ambitions. Stannis and Renly wanted to be the Lords of Stormsland, only Robert among the sibling who did not. Edward had to admit that was also a thing that was cool about Robert. But his jealousy of Edward for not being able to defeat him was not cool at all.

Although look who was talking here, Edward was criticizing Robert for his jealousy while he was also jealous of Rhaegar.

"Yes, he should be here in a while." Replied Cassana with a calm voice and a smile on her face. She felt comfortable at the moment after seeing that her sons were ok. She only had to check on her husband to see if he was ok, and she could completely feel relieved.

Stannis nodded towards his mother, then shifted his gaze back to Lord Morrigen and signaled him to continue what he was saying. Cassana, seeing that her sons were busy, decided to change her clothes in her room and wait till Edward came back and her sons to finish.

Cassana went to her room silently. When she saw her bed, she could not help but lean on it. She was tired and worried for the past few days and could not help but fall asleep the moment when she touched the bed.

As for Edward, after gathering his and his mother's luggage with his men's help from the ship, he took his sweet time to reach the castle. He did not want to work at the moment. He could not change anything much when he was a castellan in the first place. He had to wait for Steffon's death, and he was lord officially to start his plan. He wanted to torture Stannis for a while longer.

When Edward arrived at the castle's gate, he found Stannis standing there with his uncle, Heldon, who stood beside Stannis, smiling.

"Took you long enough. A woman could walk faster than you." Said Stannis with a cold tone. He was annoyed at Edward, who had disregarded the letter he sent. Edward was supposed to return two weeks earlier, but he took his time visiting the Eyrie then returned when he had enough fun.

And at the moment, Edward was having his sweet time walking at the speed of a turtle. So, why would Stannis not get annoyed when their mother, Cassana, who was a lady, arrived much earlier than Edward? Edward was enjoying himself while making use of Stannis.

Edward looked at Stannis with a mocking smile. He loved to see this brother of his, who always had a gloomy expression, get more annoyed. Wasn't that funny? Seeing such a dour person, who looked that he was annoyed, in the first place, got annoyed for real.

"Oh, My dear younger brother, why would you hate for your brother to enjoy his vacation?" Said Edward with a mocking smile. He wanted to anger Stannis more.

"Shut it. Father sent a word with the raven an hour ago. Everyone is waiting for you in the hall. So move your ass and do not let mother wait for you." Said Stannis with an annoyed look as black lines covered his face. The more he talked with Edward, the angrier he would become.

When Edward heard that, he could not stop himself from laughing. He remembered the content of this later. He continued looking at Steffon, whose face was red from anger. Edward could not stop laughing and could only continue walking beside Stannis towards the hall.

Before Edward entered the room, everyone could hear him laughing from miles away. He was laughing while walking beside Stannis and Heldon when he entered the hall. Everyone was surprised by this scene; they were not used to seeing Edward laughing this hard. Plus, Stannis's face was red from the anger.
